Are third person shooters gaining momentum and surpassing the first person shooter market?

Think about it. Fallout 4 has both, Battlefront has both. But MGSV was huge. Tomb Raider HUGE. The Division? Gonna be HUGE. And not to mention any other Tom Clancy games coming out. (Ghost Recon: Wildlands!?!? , The unannounced new Splinter Cell!?!?!)

I personally have been purchasing more third person shooters lately and have always enjoyed them over first person.

What are your thoughts, comments, roasts?

I prefer first-person over third-person in most combat based games, but some games are better in third-person. It would be nice if you could toggle between first and third-person in more games.

Also, I pre-orderd division, looking forward to playing it.

You name so many shooters other than call of duty. May as well rename this thread to “Other games surpassing call of duty?”.

What? There are so many more FPS’s other than CoD, way better actually.

Battlefield, Halo, Medal of Honor, Crysis, Brothers in Arms, Counter Strike, Team Fortress, Borderlands, Brink, Bioshock, FEAR, Blacklight, The Conduit, Doom, Destiny, Farcry, Killzone, MAG, DOOM, QUAKE, Metro, Titanfall, Theif, and all the other hundred games of the past decade?

I’m just mentioning there have been better quality 3PSs lately and I think that they are recently selling more. Well atleast I’ve been buying more and less FPS

I don’t think he was arguing the quality of the game but the audience of it. Call of duty still sells like 50 million+ every release and tops every chart every year. I personally don’t think 3rd persons are going to surpass FPS anytime soon. This year there is like 35 new FPS scheduled for release.

Not a fan of 3PS myself. Traded GoW 1 for a cheeseburger and never played another title from the franchise. Was a damn good cheeseburger too.

I wasn’t giving any praise to call of duty. I was implying your post seems biased towards call of duty.

Arma 3 > all.

I see I see, well ill make it clear I’m the exact opposite. I dont understand how CoD is still on top. I haven’t even touched a CoD since MW2. Doesn’t interest me. :stuck_out_tongue:
