So, I’m trying to play Dark Deception and when I turn a cheat on with a hotkey, they turn themselves off without me pressing the button. No mods or anything like that.

Where did you get your copy of the game from? Steam, another store or cracked?
And is WeMod added as an exception in your antivirus? If not, follow the steps here: "Wemod failed loading the cheats into your game" / "We’re having trouble downloading the cheats" - #2 by Ravenfyre and see if anything changes.
