Creator of "Borderlands" leaves the producer Gearbox

Matthew Armstrong, creator of director of the series “Borderlands”, announced via Twitter that left his post at Gearbox Software.

“Things have changed,” he wrote. “I am no longer working in the [Gearbox Software]. I will always love Gearbox, but it’s time for adventure.”

In an interview with Game Informer magazine, Armstrong said he was not fired or creative differences, but because not showing essential after the release of “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel” and “The Handsome Collection”.

“In a rare moment, I was temporarily non-vital. I could leave without affecting much ‘Borderlands’ or Gearbox if I did that at that time, so that was the time,” he said. “It’s just time for new adventures. I’m an inventor. I’m ready to do something new. Not only for me but for everyone.”

Armstrong did not indicate what their new plans, is to be part of another major studio or working as an independent producer.
