Day to evening shift adjustment help would be helpful

I usually sleep during the night and awake the morning but im trying to change that for a job that i might be getting. I really hope not yet i do hope i get it at the same time.

I’m going to assume evening shift is 6pm to 2am anyway.

So id go to bed at 3 am and awake at 10am.

Thing is i don’t think it will bother me as i sleep in a room that would be pitch dark if i turned my light off.

The only thing is how hard is it to work at night? Do you still feel tired while working?

Also how do u suggest i should adjust just in case i don’t get that job so than i can plan on being normal routine sleep?

Though i have mild sleep apnea, so my normal sleep schedule is 12am to 6 am or 10pm to 4am. Sometimes earlier.

Being a Baker, I can say from experience that I found working nights a challenge. While at work though, I didn’t feel tired so much as I was too busy to notice. But when I got home I was wacked! Your social life goes out the window too.

Going into a night job that isn’t so “busy” though like being a security guard for example, may be a little different. Your mind isn’t so occupied meaning you may become drowsy from lack of sleep. It’s also a common fact that humans are not nocturnal like Hamsters. However, I have worked with some who find that a night job suits them very well. I think this is just the fact that everyone is different with different circumstances.

I’m still a Baker today but I got a job in a retail environment which doesn’t require working nights very often, may be once every few months. This is more convenient for me having two young children, being a husband, and amongst other personal daily activities.
