Dragon Age 2 Modding

When I finally do something that I want to do and play as a class I dislike the most, this happens. lol

Thank you so much though.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get it to work?

I did a new save and even that gave me issues with corruption I had to save it another time

so it is at the beginning, thats why I think it’s something with Warriors since even when I started a new character it gave me that issue.

also I already changed the IDs back to you so it should work just by dropping it on the USB

Hey, I rehash and resigned the save that u posted for deku and it worked for me, except that I dont have black emporium, but it didnt said the file was corrupted. Do you think that you can create a save like his( with every unlock, arishok model etc) , and upload for me? Without black emporium being needed.

I tried doing the model swapping on a rogue and it worked just fine. I can probably mod yours, as long as it’s not a warrior. I can’t get the warrior to work correctly when I do it but so far, Rogue works fine for me and I haven’t tried a Mage yet but I’m going to try after I beat the game with my warrior.

No model for Sandal? Pffft. Still awesome, though.

It seems that my saves have a curse. Can I upload a new mage save so you can try it?

Awesome editor, but man this thing is daunting. I have a question about simply editing weapons. So I used First Blight to change the weapon effects of the Staff of Parthalan, but I’ve somehow inadvertently removed its damage numbers. It no longer says what type of damage it inflicts and I have a freakin’ dps of 8 when I equip it, making it weaker than the basic staff Hawke wears when no weapon is equipped. My question is how would I go about editing its stats in this editor?

There’s no way to do that in FB as far as I can tell. I know where to reach the staff in the save editor of this topic, but where in the world would I even begin doing this? There like 4 different properly ID bars and they’re only showing me numbers… Thanks for bearing with the noob, stuff like this always fries my brain. :interrobang:

I am having similar trouble as douglascavo. I was trying to replace my Warrior’s Starting equipment with Warrior Champion gear. And everything looks good until I try to load the dame. Then I get the message that the save appears damaged. I followed these steps.:
I. Open your save in wxPIRS and extract 'Savegame.das and ā€˜Savegame.das.x’

II. Now open GFFeditor and open your save and edit until you are done

III. Open Dragon Age Checksum Fix and then first open ā€˜Savegame.das’ and then ā€˜Savegame.das.x’

IV. Now open your save in Le Fluffie and go to the ā€˜Contents’ tab and then click on ā€˜Saves’

V. Right-Click on ā€˜Savegame.das’ and hit replace and replace it with the modified one and do same for ā€˜Savegame.das.x’

VI. Now open your save in Hashblock Calculator and click ā€˜Tools’ then ā€˜Calculate Hash Blocks’ and you are done and just put your save back on your storage device.

I was trying to create this save but not having any luck.
Male Warrior Hawke
-Begining of Act I
-Full Templar Gear( Levels up with you: Helm, Armor, Shield etc)
-All Champion Armor (Non-Class Restricted)
-Champion Weapons
-All Warrior Talents Learned
-Friendship 100%
Max Gold/Stats

Sandal uses a default dwarf model but has a unique face

face: dm_sandal
model: 12010 - Dwarf, Male (Noble)

Check my tutorial over on Bioware’s forums, I have how to edit effects using GFFeditor there

Warrior saves act up a lot for some reason

try when you are extracting from the save make sure that both files will be on the desktop (also put the save itself on the desktop)

That seems to keep them together, while editing your save periodically check if the das.x is exactly 4 bytes because if it isn’t then theres a good chance that the .das is also lower than it should be and if you overwrite the originals in the save with those it will come out corrupt 100% of the time.

I have ONLY had this issue with warrior saves though.

I created a new mage save. Could you please try to edit it to see if it works? I’m trying to put the champion armor and some nice staffs ( like orzaĀ“s, the one from the beginning and staff of parthalan), but I cant succeed.

Hey DarkRu1er,
Usually when I open wxPirs I Drag and drop both the savegame.das and the savegame.das.x to my Desktop. I then open with it gff4editor and only mod the starting equip with champion gear. I then Cheksum followed my replacing the original files in the main save. After that I run Hash Block and drop in back on my USB.

You say it seems like warriors are having this difficulty. Have you found a way to fix this issue?
-Btw I am trying to edit the game at the very beginging escaping the blight before Lothering if that makes any difference?

No, that doesn’t make any difference. As for the doing the armor thing, I haven’t successfully got that to work yet but I’m going to try later but in the mean time, DarkRu1er will probably be of more help.

I’ll try right after I get done doing some stuff but if I can’t get yours to work, I’ll create a new save and edit what you want and I’ll try and get the person to look like what you have in this save, but that’s only

EDIT: I got the same problem that DarkRu1er was having, it’s corrupt. All I did was change the ID’s and rehashed and resigned and it was corrupt. I’ll make a new save and get you want you want. The save will be at the very beginning. If you want to change how your person looks, you might need to get the Black Emporium. It’s just going to be default male Hawke.

EDIT2: I tried it but it didn’t work. I haven’t got the weapons to work yet on any of my saves so, I’ll just leave this up to DarkRu1er. I can change the models of the character but not the weapons. lol

Hmm don’t understand why it works for some but not for others. If I am unable to figure this out would anyone be able to add a few items to my game. I can do the rest of the editing just not adding item part XD.

Here is my save if anyone can see whats wrong with it
File name: 0x70ff0009_2_u!0 File size: 5.54 MB

II. Then open ā€˜Models.txt’ and put the ID into the boxes for ā€˜Savegame_Appearance_Type’ and 'ā€˜Savegame_Appearance_Original_Type’

Hey Dark what boxes are you talking about here?

Word to the wise if you don’t have a 180 IQ or are some kind of computer wiz
this might not make sense to you

I tried downloading it and it says it is damaged.

Upload to megaupload and only include the save don’t compress it

Open the txt file called Models and then look for the ID you want to use to swap out for. Then, in GFFeditor, put the model’s ID in the box for both ā€˜Savegame_Appearance_Type’ and 'ā€˜Savegame_Appearance_Original_Type’

Those are in ā€˜Savegame_Appearance’

And the champion armor? If you could do this save that you talked about, With default male Hawke ( with the scar) I would be very happy.

Does anyone know what the weapon id is for the Eye of the Storm staff? I’ve been looking everywhere but couldn’t find it.

Thanks so much!

Sorry, Try this one. This is the save that I get that is getting corrupted all I did was change starting armor

Here is the Original file that works:

I am trying to create a Templar Save with the following.

Male Warrior Hawke
-Begining of Act I
-Full Templar Gear( Levels up with you: Helm, Armor, Shield etc)
-All Champion Armors (Non-Class Restricted)
-Champion Weapons
-All Warrior Talents Learned
-Friendship 100%
Max Gold/Stats

If there is anyways you could help with the armor/items I could do the rest in First Blight more than likely. =P

Thanks Dark!

I’m new to modding and am pretty much a ******

One more question - I see hawk comes up at 15 on ID value do i just swap one of the
values from model iID with that?
