So now that I’m back home from school, I’ve been suffering using the internet we currently have. My parents pay for our Internet and phone which I believe is bundled through AT&T, and I’m pretty sure it’s just DSL internet. Our modem is located downstairs and my room is upstairs which doesn’t help, but the service is awful. Our download speeds are super slow, about 700kbps (actual speeds, not what tests say online) max and our upload is atrocious. Downloads freeze all the time and either start back up or do not completely finish. I often can’t load web pages and I get DSL errors in my browser all the time. Videos on sites EVEN like YouTube will not buffer and constantly freeze even at low playback qualities. When any1 else in my house is using the Internet or WIFI everything else suffers (lag on my Xbox, not loading web pages online, etc.)
I’m looking to find a better package than what we have now. I’m hoping to ask my dad to change it and I’ll split the bill with him each month to something much better. I was wondering if anyone could recommend anything, or their opinions based on experience with companies like Comcast, AT&T, etc. What do you all have? What do you recommend that is at a decent/fair price?
