I don’t understand why people dislike these updates honestly. I absolutely love these updates, I mean I would rather this, than some stupid additive to single player. Don’t get me wrong but I love single player in games like Grand Theft Auto, but I agree 100% with the way they ended GTA V and don’t even think there is a possible way to make the single player more enjoyable than it was the first day release. I believe we all could agree that the first day release of GTA V was great and the first time beating the single player was even better, and if they added more missions it will never feel the same.
These updates spark the little bit of life the game actually still has, I play it once and a while with some friends. I even plan on playing it with Zodiac here soon once I finish up some school work and get some free time. But back to the topic of discussion, these updates are nice and they give me a sense of hope of something bigger and better in the future. I mean let’s be honest how long did we have to wait for a new GTA after the release of GTA IV? Five or six years I believe, and just think that is most likely (if not more) the amount of time we have to wait for the next one and if we are gonna wait that long, I am glad Rockstar is still adding some stuff to GTA V.
As for the items, I think they are going a bit overboard with the “gold” stuff, but think about it you play the role of a drug dealing, bank robbing, psychotic gangster. If you had the amount of money your character has (depending on how much you have) you would buy some gold cars and stuff like most rich celebrities buy in the music industry. So those who were complaining on “Buttered’s” thread saying, “Wow, they are running out of ideas…” No simply they are re-imagining the real world of having money and spending it, well, stupidly.
But like I said previously I am happy with these “mini-updates” because they are something that gives me a sense of Rockstar still caring about the game and not just the money they made from it. Like for example with the Call of Duty series, they simply just throw together map packs like all the time, but Rockstar is different they give you vehicles, ways of making more money, try their hardest to add more things for the players to have fun, they also add big updates like the heists. Yeah sure heists were a “wait-on” update, but they made the best of the delay they had with them, by making them even better than they would of been. At least give you the promised updates/additives, because if I am not correct I got ripped off many times with DLC with CoD companies advertising “pre-order” items that you don’t receive all the time. Like for example with Ghosts, I pre-ordered the collectors edition for $120 and when I got it, it didn’t have the season pass bonuses in it, which infuriated me; I had to call Gamestop, and they kept me on the phone for hours literally just to give me a code. Thank god Rockstar is not like that, but I also remember some DLC being delayed with past CoDs, so just be thankful Rockstar is a reliable, and trustworthy game development company; and just be happy with these mini-updates, because I would rather have these, than have no updates at all.
