I went on Halo Reach early today and did all of the daily challenges. Then got off for a good 4 hours, and came back on now. When I went on halo reach it said “INFORMATION This console has been temporarily banned from earning credits” I was like wtf? And I hit the A button. Then it said “INFORMATION This account has been temporarily banned from earning credits” So now I’m a little confused. I haven’t modded any credits on my account, I don’t boost and I don’t do glitches… I only play Team Swat. Anyone know why this might have happened? >.<

I don’t know what I did though? Could it be that I wasn’t playing for about five games? My friend was the leader and I just sat in the game not playing, but they wouldn’t ban me for that would they?
Only earned about 20,000 today.

If its your first, it’s a 2 week console/profile ban from earning credits.
if you get points from afking, it is seen as boosting, hence why you get kicked in gears, and if you exploit it, banned.
why not just quit?
How is 20,000 a lot? Completing the daily challenges alone will give you 13,000.
Also, I was eating and doing some homework, so I sat there for a few games.
if it was a matchmade game that counts as afking and yes they will ban you for it.

Its annoying, and no offense but you deserved it.
Take 30 minutes out of your day to do homework and turn off your Xbox. Not AFK. It ruins the game for other players.
well it means that did something wrong, and also it means that if you have another account on your xbox that that account cant get any credits aswell because your console is temp banned from earning credits meaning you need a new account and xbox to earn credits!
I had the same for my main account and old xbox. I modded my Clantag to have the Bungie logo in it and after playing 5 hours straight without deleting it Stupid me I got banned from matchmaking online Private Games but I do still get credits what is pretty dumb Earn credits when you cant play online…
20k isn’t a lot.
As far as I’m concerned when I played Reach the cap was 60k.
You are banned most likely for AFK’ing.
20,000 is not that much! you can get that much from doing one challenge
I remember having a really good day on Halo 3. Then got banned in the middle of a game…
You either did something, or the server just caught you. At least its not permanent.
Did you ever do any challenge resetting?
The cap is 120k… why would they care about 20k? Did you get reset at all?
before 343 took over, Bungie announce that afking in matches will get you kicked from the game first, then if you do it again then it is a ban
Sitting their and doing nothing in a game is what got you banned, its considered AFK boosting. You sit their not even playing and are getting points by technically “finishing” the round and getting the jackpot and such.

okay well since no one has told you this you are only banned for at least 2 weeks of not earning credits. Iv been banned for weekly challenge resetting and the same message popped up but 2 weeks later i was able to get credits again.
also just if your going to be doing something else, i suggest at least dashboarding or exiting out of the match so you dont get AFK blamed and wont be banned again.
