[Hex] Mod money in Assassin's Creed III

Hey everyone, I just bought Assassin’s Creed III today (wich is amazing!) and I was wondering if they add protection to their money system so I tried the hex mod that I did with Assassin’s Creed : Revelations and it works :thumbsup:

Unless you want to mod you money twice, it’s better to mod it when you are as Connor, not as Haytam.

Here’s the steps:

  1. Take in note the amount of money you have in game (i.e. 2850 money)
  2. Transfer the ASSASSINSCREED3SAVEGAME1A to your computer.
  3. Open it with Horizon and and extract it in your computer.
  4. Open the save game with an Hex Editor (I used Hex Workshop).
  5. Convert the amount of money into Hex (2850 -> 0B22).
  6. Flip the byte (0B22 will be 220B).
  7. Add 1Din front of the hex that has been byte flipped.
  8. Now search for 1D220B. You should find one.
  9. Change the bytes that are after the 1D (IDFFFF -> 65554 money).
  10. Save, rehash, and resign.
  11. (Optional) DELETE the ASSASSINSCREED3SAVEGAME1B save game from your hard drive.

IMPORTANT:I found that 65554 is the maximum money you can get with hex. But I read that if you get more than 68000 money, you can re-hex to get more money. I will try it asap.

I tried 3 times (with different amounts of money) without deleteASSASSINSCREED3SAVEGAME1B and it doesn’t work. It only works when I removed it. Maybe it’s just me :anguished:

i made a starters save but there is one problem. when you become connor you will lose all your money.

It’s best to mod it when you become Connor because you lose everything when you become him, unless you can be bothered to mod it again.

& how do I find where it is in Hex Workshop lol, all just numbers/letters & tis making me mad! :anguished:

I used Converter to figure it out. Not sure how to find value, also using hex workshop.

Edit: go to edit and find and type in the value.

For some reason 5369 was not a good number to use lol… changed my amount of money in-game to 3476 and then I could find it in hex workshop :stuck_out_tongue:

I wish you could mod your online ranks. I always wanted this for Brotherhood and Revelations.

I have never used a Hex editor before, i got the Hex Workshop and i know my money is at 14575 but thats about all i know at the moment.

How do i search for the correct err… Hex (if thats the right term)?

Running into some trouble with this one -

My funds are 54; according to converter that is 36 in hex. Following your instructions, I am attempting to find the value 1D63. That value does not exist. I have tried searching it multiple times.

Also, according to the converter, you mis-typed your hex value. 2850 is not 0B22, it is B22. I wasn’t sure whether you made a mistake or not, so I accounted for this.

I also tried 1D063, 1D630, and 1D036. Non are found. Not sure the snag here, but you may want to check your calculations or text, OP. Suggestions?

Try 1D0063 or 1D6300 it should work then. I’m pretty sure you just left out a 0

Your hex value is 0036 without flip.

Ok question for you I have looked for different types of money and tryed changing it but every time i serch i always find 2 can you help? Also When ever i edit one or the other or both the game will only show start new game insted of my save?

I’ve done a lot of hex edits over the years, but I’m not getting this one. Each time I’ve tried so far (as Connor) I find 2 or 3 matches for the amount of money I have at the time. Some are Motorola (Big Indian) and some are Intel (Little Indian). I haven’t found any matches with a 1D (or ID) in front or after it. Each time I try to hack a copy of my save, I go through and turn each match for the money value (one at a time) into FFFF but that hasn’t been working.

I looked at the extracted gamesave with Le Fluffie as well, but the hex within the save is exactly the same so it wouldn’t make a difference using it. I’ve only tried one or two matches while having ASSASSINSCREED3SAVEGAME1B deleted so I’m likely going to try that a bit more. I’m also assuming once you get your money value above 65535 you should be able to edit it again as it worked in AC2, but you should note that if your money is 255 or less, you’re looking for a 2 digit value (XX) and not 4 (XXXX).

XX = 0-255
XXXX = 256-65535

Get above 2600 money. and do it again. and mod you money when you are connor.
