"Horizon has stopped working"

Every time I attempt to open Horizon it says it has stopped working and closes. I even tried downloading an alternate download, http://www.horizonmb.com/client/v2/Horizon.Setup.v2.8.7.1.exe that someone has suggested in another thread; but that fails too. I’ve tried running as administrator, updated and cleaned my .NET Framework, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Horizon, and I’ve watched every useless video and read every repetitive thread I could to try and help me fix this, but no solutions. Please help!

Try running it as Administrator by right clicking the shortcut icon and choosing to run as admin.

I did that. Nothing changed.
I’m also on Windows 7, just saying.

That error is because of a permissions issue and if you have tried running as admin then it could be a bigger problem with your UAC settings being set to high or corrupted. Try turning your UAC settings down like so:

  1. Just type UAC into the start menu or Control Panel search box and click on it

  1. A slider like the one shown below should pop up. For now let’s try just putting it right down the bottom. You might need to restart your computer after doing this, can’t remember.
