Horizon still not working

The thread, “I can’t open Horizon…” was closed and the problem was not resolved.

Refer to page 11, post #105,

The person who said his was fixed, was not even the Original Poster. Mine is dong the same thing it has been doing, not working. I was typing a reply when it got closed, I am running windows 7 64bit and it will run in safe mode, but is still doing the same thing in normal mode.

I will speak to Dan about it, I’ll ask him to reopen it again.

what error?not responding
uninstall net frame work(3.5 and 4)
then install 3.5

He’s tried everything like that, read his other thread. It doesn’t load, it says in task manager, it’s running, but it’s only using 2-3k. It normally should use around 50k

end it in task manger
as you can only have 1 open @ a time

If he ends it in task manager, and reopens it, it will do the same again. View the thread at in the original post. We’ve tried everything.

ask cheater if he can give you a version with all the .exe’s bounded(all the framework dlls that are needed)
it will be bigger but it might work

thank you m8 for open a new thread coz the problem has not been solved yet

i have the same os try running as amdin if that doesnt work re download it thats what i did

Yeah, i’m very annoyed that Odin closed the thread without actually reading my HUGE post which CLEARLY shows that the issue was NOT resolved.

That’s abuse of power, and inconsiderate and until this is fixed i’m not buying Diamond again.

Obviously it’s an intermittent issue with certain computers, win7 64bit from all the posts I have read and is obviously an issue with the software itself and because Odin obviously didn’t see my post, I will post it again.

I have a feeling it’s to do with 64-bit systems…

All you guys still having this issue, can you tell me if you’re running 32 or 64bit by hitting START then RIGHT CLICKING on COMPUTER/MY COMPUTER and hit PROPERTIES and it should be in there.

Could a few guys who aren’t having any issues with Horizon also post if they’re running 32 or 64bit…

Cheater, gonna give you more info.

Im running WIN7 64bit

It won’t boot up, it causes a stack overflow, same issue happens when running in XP Compatibility Mod.
Same thing happens when running as Admin.

Faulting application name: Horizon Beta.exe, version: 1.1.7.1, time stamp: 0x0000002e
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000

Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: 3a428338-2358-11e0-8b7e-90fba6a8ba3e

Which states a stack overflow and suggests an issue with the loader.

Same exception codes appear when running in XP Compatibility and running as an Admin.

Trying to get a dump from task manager but i’m not fast enough…Got a dump of the process… uploading now. 50MB… this is gonna take a while.

And here it is:DMP FILE.

Horizon just started out of the blue…

So I closed it off and tried to re-open it and it don’t work again, same errors.

Also, it works fine on WIN7 32bit.

yea, most people have 32bit. hmm…Cheater will find a way

Post everything program you have installed/running while opening Horizon. Take a screen shot and post it. It might be a program conflicting with Horizon. If you both have the same program running, that could be the problem.

Coffee, Horizon worked a few days ago on my 64bit system, since then i’ve made no real hardware or software changes, just daily use like browsing and downloading.

I can’t exactly take a screenshot of everything running, that would involve taking a screenshot of running services and stuff and it’s a long list.

Obviously something is conflicting and i’m working on finding it.

People who have issues with horizon, can I get more info on your computers please? :o

Btw atm i’m running through and stopping services one by one

I got it figured out, thanks to Purple.

It was Avast that was doing it, it was updated on January 13, 2011 to version 5.1.889. I disabled it before and it still did not work. but I did not uninstall it. I uninstalled it and it worked.

You can still use the 5.1.889 version by uninstalling the Behavior Shield. One of the avast tech’s said it is only passive right now and will be active on version 6.

Problem solved, Thanks to Purple and everyone else who helped. Back to modding:thumbsup:

Problem solved.
Thanks everyone.

Closed.

Opened again. I need more people to confirm that for me. That is ridiculous. I was pulling my hair out trying to fix this problem.

lol fight to death for the staff

You will look back one day and wish you had your hair again!

Hope you fix it, mine works fine running x64 bit on Windows 7 in both modes, so im not quite sure?!?!

Thats pretty F u c k t but all i can say is reformat your computer
i dont know but yeah just try it

The problem is Avast apparently. It’s solved, but I need more people to confirm it.
