Horizon Won't Launch

I used to use horizon a long time ago, but this is my first experience with this new update. The installer installs the program correctly but it won’t launch. When I launch the application it shows the splash screen loading for about a second and then it disappears and I don’t get an error message. I’m on windows 10 and I’ve uninstalled my anit-virus, made sure that .NET Framework 3.5 was installed, ran the launcher in compatibility mode for windows 7, added the program to windows firewall, and restarted my computer after doing all that. None of these worked for me and help would be greatly appreciated.

Try disabling your internet connection. If it starts that means there is still something blocking it when it tries to contact the servers.

That actually fixed it, but I don’t understand what would be blocking. it. I have an ad blocker extension. Do you think that would mess it up?

An ad blocker shouldn’t make any difference. No one has ever been able to figure out why it happens and we can’t seem to reproduce it on our end.

That’s weird, but disconnecting from the internet when I launch it isn’t too much of a problem. Thanks for the help.

We will continue to try and figure it out but at this moment we don’t have a solution.

There was no internet. The internet was a lie. Maybe horizon thinks it has internet connection and automatically chooses online mode instead of offline mode and when it tries to access internet resources it can’t find anything and stops working.

Try forcing horizon into online mode without an internet connection.
