This is a guide to see if your motherboard is compatible to flash a XBOX 360. You will need to Find your Serial ATA chipset type.
If your chipset is not compatible, go buy a VIA 6421 card. They will not cost alot, 5 ($9) on eBay.
First you need to check what chipset you have.
To do this:
Click on Start>Now in search bar at bottom search Device manager and click on it> Then find the device which says “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers”>Now find your Serial ATA chipset/Storage controller.
Ok now you have found your chipset check if it is compatible with the list below:
*Note that if your chip-set is not listed you can try flashing anyway to see if it is compatible. If it doesn’t work then Buy a VIA 6421A card which is compatible with all Xbox DVD drives.
