I’ll be getting the new elite controller when it releases, which means it’s time to get a headset. Does anyone have suggestions? The only thing I care about is having voice monitoring or whatever they call it, where you can hear yourself talk.
Most turtle beach headsets have voice monitoring. They’re also incredibly uncomfortable

i bought a set of the microsoft stereo headsets, they are fair quality for sound and they don’t have voice monitoring but it’s the cheapest available at game.co.uk (for around £35 currently on sale and a good upgrade from the basic chat headset you get with the xbox one).
the nearest turtle beaches for price are the X01’s (at around £65) but are small and i’m not sure about the quality then there are the X04’s (at around £80) they are larger much like the stereo headset from microsoft.
then there are the Tritton Kama’s at around £50 and the Tritton Kunai at around £70 it all depend what you want to pay for them you can get wireless versions from some where around £150 for either turtle beach or trittons.
Like I do in all of the other threads relating to console headsets, I highly recommend purchasing an Astro A40 or A50 headset. I myself use the same headset that I used with my Xbox 360, Astro A40s, and they still have amazing sound and are very comfortable; even when gaming for hours! Personally, even though you stated you’re looking for a headset with voice monitoring, I don’t really see why one would need that because if the game and voice volume are even, one not louder then the other, than I don’t see why would would have to worry about yelling.

As for voice monitoring… I’ve never had a gaming headset but from my experience with over-the-ear headphones (years ago, who knows what has changed) it’s very difficult for me to tell how loud I’m talking. I’d like to try some out but I don’t really have a way to.
Well, when it comes to trying them out before making a purchase, you could always venture over to a GameStop and try the Turtle Beaches if that’s what you are looking to getting rather then the Astro Gaming headset(s); especially since you’re looking for a headset that has voice monitoring. You may be able to try some out via BestBuy, but it depends on which location you go to because not all that are around me have the demo stands with various headsets.
Again, best of luck with choosing a headset, I know it can be some what difficult in making a decision, but I’m sure if you do enough research you’ll find a headset to purchase and enjoy!
Honestly, I’d recommend Turtle Beaches. The audio is good, they’re more affordable than Astros, and they have great customer support. I don’t really feel any discomfort with my Turtle Beaches, but everybody does say Astro’s is better with comfort.

Turtle Beaches X12 can’t go wrong with what you need. I have a pair, got em for $20 during Black Friday. They run for about $60 regular price, way cheaper than Astros and they’re decent. Comfortable when you get used to them. Sound quality is also decent, I use em for both my PC and Xbox.
