Is this router worth getting?

I have the BT Homehub 5 that came with the internet I got installed. But the wireless connection is pretty bad. I don’t have a big house so when I am in the bathroom/games room I expect to have full if not moderate wireless strength. But it is pretty poor.

So I am looking at getting something better. Here is what I have found.

I can only buy from Argos as there are no other shops that would stock anything like that here. If there is something better on Amazon I will look at it too. Would it be worth it to go from the 5 to the Nighthawk?

BT Homehub 5

I had that router before and it was really good until I upgraded to http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R8000.aspx

But that one isn’t on the site apparently. I had good connection with the nighthawk though I like to stick with Netgear routers very reliable to me. It also looks like it’s from the moon:P.

That’s is nealry £200 for a router lol I don’t want to upgrade that much.

I suggest a powerline, you should use wired not wireless.

I have a power line adapter for my pc. But I can’t move my home hub due to where it’s plugged in. So I need something with better wireless

Asus RT-AC68u / RT-AC87u. Fullstop. I use that on my Sky Fibre connection and it’s flawless, running the Merlin firmware to allow to use the Sky ISP as I’ve got my username and password.

If you have BT fibre I’d recommend you get these routers to replace the HH5 and just use the BTO modem and new router.

just try switching the wifi channel the bt router is using there is prob something around your home or next door thats conflicting with the signal or it could be your wifi card. The bt router is capable of covering a small home its even duel band so can go on 5ghz but your wifi card needs to be compatible with duel band to use this
