So it finally happened, my tv decided to be stupid and keeps flickering on and off no matter how many times geek squad repairs it, so they decided to offer me an exchange for my tv. I am supposed to get back 399.99 plus tax plus the geek squad warranty that is left over. I am also getting a rather large check coming in the mail by the end of the week so I am looking to get a bigger and better tv, hopefully a smart tv. My budget is $800-900 plus tax, and that includes the geek squad warranty. I would like it to be smart tv capable and a built in web browser if possible. must be 1080p or higher with at least 3 or more hdmi ports to accommodate my multiple gaming consoles, also I would rather it be one of the leading manufacturers such as sony, samsung, lg. I dont know what other features I want to have on the tv. But if anybody has any ideas as to what tv I should get, that would be great.
I realize you said tv, but might I suggest a monitor instead? Or are definitely wanting a tv?
Nice monitor with 3+ HDMIs.
Well you can get a vizio 55" 4k smart tv for $780 or if you want to spend a couple hundred more you an get a samsung 4k. I can’t recommend any 1080p TV but I can say Vizio and Samsung both have excellent quality and customer service.
If you start to buy something and they try to pass it off as 4k make sure it is truly 4k. UHD and 4k are not the same thing.
He’s right, i would recommend Samsung i have a 42" Plasma that i got for 319.99$ (2 years ago though), Samsung are the best in TV screens, The have a 4K UHD JU6500 Series Smart TV - 40" Class for $799.99 which is really nice.
Chris can you link it to me the 2 tvs you were mentioning.
I am definitely wanting a tv autrix.
Where is this at curbsidetoe?
If you have a games console, don’t bother buying a smart tv. Games consoles tend to be more extensive with apps than any smart tv is.
If you’re looking for a tv less than 40", don’t bother buying a 4k tv. The pixel density won’t be noticed unless you’re sat 3ft away.
If I were looking at televisions, especially for gaming, then I wouldn’t want something super gigantic; I’d be looking at 32’ inch televisions as my limit. Granted, that’s me and everyone has their own preferences and opinions, but I’d only purchase a larger television if I was going to use that television strictly for TV/Netflix/etc.
…I tend to sit close to my setup and so a larger television, for gaming, wouldn’t serve me well.
Best of luck and be sure to update us on what kind of television you went with!
Well see snipazor, I use my tv’s for a variety of things, I plug my computer into it, I plug my consoles into it, I watch tv with it, I also have a big living room and I have 32 inch tv so I am constantly having to be up close and personal with it when it comes to gaming and being on the computer because of my sucky vision. I understand where you are coming from.
What is the difference?
UHD is 3840x2160 where true 4k is 4096x2160. I don’t know why companies are allowed to advertise UHD as being 4k when it isn’t. Yes UHD is 4x the pixels of 1080p but that doesn’t make it 4k.

Edit: Chris already answered, I didn’t refresh the page before posting.
do the 144ghz screen you fgt
or 4k if you really are just wasting time watching stuff
monitor > tv
I have been using my Vizio 32 inch since last March as a gaming ‘monitor’ and I have yet to have any issues.
First off, don’t call me a fgt second, I looked at 144ghz and I don’t want to use something that small just for gaming, or anything else I might use it for.
Understood, I do the exact same at times. (ex: I’m watching a stream and would like to view it on e 32’ inch rather than a 14’ inch screen.)
Keep us updated on which television you go with and all!
Buy the Biggest l.e.d monitor you and the by something alongthe lines of chromestick or sling for me when you add more stuff to something more chane it goes wrong especilly with a cpu in a tv good luck man
Update: I got my tv. I decided to go with a 4K UHD 43 inch Sharp Aquos Smart TV. It cost me $599 with a $69.99 2 year protection plan, an 8 foot rocketfish optical audio cord for $29.99, and lastly, a logitech wireless keyboard for $24.99. All comes up to $766.35 after tax. I think I got a good deal on a 4k UHD TV.
