I was tasked with writing some poems for a school project, and this one is much better than I expected! It is a lyric poem that tells quite a sad story. Enjoy!
As I tread this nocturnal path
I can feel the dwindling of my eternal wrath
I can find peace and tranquility in this place
For the first time I feel a smile on my face
I can finally hear what nature has to say
For the first time I am happy and I desire to stay
I am certain I do not want to wake from this deep slumber
For I do not want to return to my life of pure somber
Though all nice things don’t last forever
This is true, but I wish it was never
Sadly my path is short and will soon come to an end
