I wanted to bring up something I know a lot of PC gamers have been wishing for: a native WeMod app for Linux.
Right now, WeMod is the only reason I’m still on Windows. Everything else I use—work, gaming, apps, everyday software—runs perfectly fine under Linux distributions like Zorin, Ubuntu, Pop!_OS, Mint, and countless others. The only missing piece is WeMod support.
Linux gaming has exploded thanks to Steam Proton, Lutris, Heroic, Bottles, and other tools. And with more people switching away from Windows, now is the perfect time to start pushing for official Linux compatibility—even if it begins with an experimental or community-driven build.
Why Linux support matters:
Most modern games already run on Linux through Proton or native ports.
Linux gaming adoption is growing every year—lots of users are moving off Windows for performance, privacy, or stability reasons.
WeMod doesn’t need a full rework—just a version that plays nicely with frameworks like Proton/Wine, or a lightweight Linux client.
There’s strong demand already, and having a Linux build opens the door to an entirely new user base.
Even basic functionality at first would be a huge step:
Being able to launch trainers
A minimal UI
Compatibility with Proton-managed games
If WeMod is the only Windows-exclusive thing holding people back from switching (like me), imagine how many more users would jump over once there’s Linux support.
So I’m asking the devs and community:
Can we start taking steps toward a Linux-compatible version of WeMod? Even a test build or community-supported alpha would be a massive win.
Thanks for reading, and I hope others here feel the same. Let’s push for this together. ![]()
