How many suggestions is it going to take to get Linux compatibility?
You can’t use the excuse that Linux is no longer a gaming machine when there is a downloadable beta for Steam OS to be used on multiple platforms. Handheld and desktop alike. I would gladly pay more to see this happen.

Once the Steam OS comes out of beta There will be a large volume of gamers switching over to Linux. I understand you have limited resources and manpower. I absolutely love WeMod and would love to see it grow. So please. Do the thing!

The problem is that trainers created are created using a program called cheat engine which allows for memory/address scanning for a particular application (Game).

Cheat engine does not have a native Linux port which makes it slightly difficult. I suspect the Wemod frontend app can however be ported assuming it is using the C# language, but then again it also matters on the number of windows dependencies the app is using.

For the most part if a port is done, existing trainers should work out the box as memory address are tied to a game build, unless there is a game that access OS level address for a particular reason.

There is also a matter of testing on both OS for windows and Linuix, which would open up the suggestion for the user to be the testers for the Linuix version, not sure how that would go down for a paid service.

While I do like Steam, I do think windows gaming will get better by the end of the year with the introduction of big picture mode for the Xbox app. I do think we will see more games on the Xbox app coming soon.

Windows gaming is bad because of windows itself. Many people moved to linux, just because how god awful Windows has become.
No XBox pass will save it for me.

Besides, CE exists on Mac, so If there is unix-like OS being supported, im pretty damn sure, C# is not an option.

Ironically, linux shows better FPS then windows EVEN using Proton. That should to give you idea, how bad windows has become

When people start unsubscribing from WeMod because they are no longer using Windows, i’m pretty sure WeMod will have no choice but to create a Linux version if they want to stay in business. There are already trainers on Linux you can use to mod games albeit much more complicated to run if you don’t know how to set them up. People don’t want to have to do this in order to be able to mod their games. Gamers would however, be willing to pay for a subscription for an app like WeMod to do the work for them. I believe this will become more apparent in the near future especially at the endof support for Windows 10 in October. The requirements for supported hardware to run Windows 11 are a lot more demanding than Windows 10. Which is why we see millions of gamers and content creators still using Windows 10. If they are on an older system that doesn’t support windows 11, their only option is to either upgrade their hardware (not a solid choice in today’s PC market) or switch to Linux. Just do the thing already. WeMod will be missing on so many Linux gamers if they can’t at least try. Also Windows 11 has had years to get better and we are somehow worse off than we were since it’s launch, and people don’t like getting forced to upgrade to a platform they don’t want to run to begin with.

Many companies are just “scared” of Linux.
And here we are, with SteamDecks (and other handhelds), PewDiePie making videos about moving to Linux, Proton etc

Gaming on Linux never was that amazing, then now.

Just to bounce back on this, I appreciate Linux also as mentioned before it should be considered as SteamOS is going mainstream.
