Microsoft is Not Exhibiting at Tokyo Game Show

Microsoft has confirmed it won’t have any sort of major presence at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

“2015 will continue to provide an attractive game line-up, exclusive titles included,” Microsoft Japan category marketing group’s Masayuki Inoue said in a statement provided to Famitsu (via Gematsu).

“This year, Microsoft will not exhibit the Tokyo Game Show, but we’re making various preparations to deliver the latest Xbox news to fans and media. We will provide an update as soon as we can.”

While it’s clear there won’t be much of anything for Xbox fans at the Japan-based gaming expo, Inoue’s comments suggest there may be something else planned later this year for the region.

Despite lackluster console sales, Microsoft hasn’t given up on Japan just yet. In fact, the company just recently cut the price of Xbox One in an attempt to spur interest in the region.
