Nvidia announces 1070 and 1080

They just wrapped up the event and this is what we got out of it for GPU:

Both are more powerful than the Titan X the 1080 is twice as powerful and 3x more power efficient. Full detail here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10305/the-nvidia-geforce-2016-liveblog

Sweet

Gunna sell my 980Ti when they announce a 1080Ti. But damn the new cards look good.

Looks like I’m gonna get a 1070 then.

I seriously doubt you are going to see a 1080ti. I don’t see AMD keeping up with them after this and that is the only reason they released the TI cards. They also didn’t release a titan series card with this which was the high end then the ti filled the gap between that and the x80.

Are those prices including tax(s)? I’m trying to get an idea of how much it would be in the UK.

The US does not have a standard tax so hose are retail price for reference cards that we will pay. Generally you can just replace the $ with your currency and that is the price you will pay.

Will 1 kidney be enough to cover it?

Super happy with my 970.

I’m getting the 1080.

I’ll wait for benchmarks. 980Ti isn’t enough for 1440p 144Hz most of the time and I want to be pushing it hard. Might end up going for two 1080’s if it’s good enough since they’re walking into a nice price point.

I’m in the same spot. I want to get a 1440 144hz monitor but I know my 980ti won’t be able to keep a constant frame rate on it.

Yup. So I’m waiting on the benchmarks. I miss the constant 144Hz I used to have at 1080p but the G-Sync can make up for it.

Going to sell my 970. The 1080 looks very promising.

You aren’t going to get much for your 970 so if you have a second rig or want a HTPC keep it. The 1080 is looking very MEH unless you are into liquid cooling.

That’s a thought. I might use it to build another rig for someone.

im going with the 1080
