I have an unmodded xbox 360, I have used horizon (older version) to mod save files before. The 1st time I modded oblivion, I found it strange that when I injected the modded save (taken from my own game, not downloaded from anywhere else) I suddenly had 2 save files (in the dock menu of horizon). However I ignored it, and loaded the game up as usual, successfully modded.
The second time I went into horizon, I thought I had better delete the extra save file (to save confusion since they both had the same name) and from then on whenever I have tried to inject after modding, I get the ‘invalid STFS package’ error.
I’m wondering if it has anything to do with me deleting the extra save file which suddenly appeared? I’ve tried creating new save files in game on oblivion but when I mod it and try to inject the same thing happens. I also found it strange that when I loaded the 1st modded save file on the xbox 360, it asked me to choose source (I chose hard drive) but it showed all the saves (including the ones on the usb which I had modded) when I clicked on load.
I’ve read other threads about the same error message but they haven’t helped. Hopefully somebody can?
EDIT: I’ve discovered that if I double click my save file in horizon dock with the oblivion game modder open, it works ok (as opposed to extracting, modding then injecting it). I still really want some answers, as that’s not how I used to do it, I should be able to extract/inject. However for others (using their own save) receiving this error message, this may provide a possible solution which I haven’t read of anywhere.
Incidentally, after playing around I also just discovered you can add shadowmere as an item in your inventory and then drop him to be able to ‘own’ him!
