A game called Sierra Ops currently offers its base game for free.
However, after the 4th August, it will become a paid game.

If you claim the game before this happens, you will keep it free forever.

Game Description:

After nearly decimating all of mankind over three centuries ago, humanity looked to the stars to rebuild their past glory. With the invention of terraforming technology, self-sustaining, man-made ecosystems and reliable space travel, large off-planet colonies and mining posts were soon established to feed the ever-growing human population. The power of the human race grew. However, with power comes corruption. With corruption comes imbalance. With imbalance comes unrest. With unrest comes war.

Alternative method of getting the game free without it having to launch Steam:

  1. Go here: https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/
  2. Open the developer console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+i on your keyboard.
  3. Click the “Console” tab at the top of the side panel that just appeared.
  4. Paste this in there:
    javascript:AddFreeLicense(75253);
  5. Press enter. The page will auto-refresh.
    Repeat step 2 to close the console.
    (You might get a message that the game is “undefined”, just ignore it).
