Recreational and Medical Cannabis in the state of Wyoming

Hey,

I have started a petition on Change.org regarding the current Cannabis status in Wyoming. Currently Cannabis is still considered a Schedule I controlled substance in Wyoming, alongside dangerous, fatal drugs such as Heroin, MDMA, and PCP. This is not right, Cannabis has not had one reported overdose since its first written discovery in ~2727 B.C. from Chinese Emperor Shen Nung, yet Heroin has been known to kill individuals on the first dose. 20+ states have already legalized Cannabis in one form, and I believe it is our right as citizens of these United States of America to have a right to what we want in our state(s). Cannabis would provide the state of Wyoming with large sums of tax revenue, the crime rate would decrease, and Wyoming could save on incarceration costs, and could focus on putting the people who really belong in prison such as murderers, drug dealers, kidnappers, and thieves away for good.

Please, support my petition, and lets make Wyoming a Cannabis recreational, medical friendly state. Please try to spread this to social media, its time Wyoming joined the green evolution.

Thanks for your time,
Survival

Petition: Petitioning Governor Matt Mead of Wyoming

MMJ clinics are hit extremely hard with federal taxes.

what’s up with Americans and their self destructive tendency. Do you really think turning USA into a drug state is a good idea?

legal or not i don’t really care, I live in Canada but the only reason the crime rate would decrease is because you wouldn’t have as many arrests for Marijuana so it is kinda a false stat, yea technically it dropped but only because one thing was no longer getting people arrested,so i consider the crime rate argument null/void

you should care. I can imagine usa exporting more drugs to other country’s if citizens could grow their own marijuana without any law enforcement stopping them.

i think growing would still be illegal

you are probably right about that. I don’t know much about growing marijuana, but I think access to seeds would increase and that could make it easier for people to plant their own plants. Also, the American government could stop financings departments like the DIA since their main task would be nullified/much harder to maintain.

Do you mean DEA? Legalizing pot would not put the DEA out of their work.

EDIT: Also, smoking pot is hardly self-destructive. Marijuana has a many benefits for patients who have brain cancer, and it also helps insomnia, depression, etc. Anyone who thinks marijuana is harmful and some super dangerous substance is ignorant.

In my opinion, as long as alcohol is legal than pot should definitely be legal because alcohol creates SO many more problems, it’s almost laughable.

yes, I did mean DEA (drug enforcement agency?). And I don’t know much about what they do, but I have watched enough breaking bad to know that they try to confiscate illegal drugs. But I forget about the fact that there’s more drugs then just marijuana. And I’m not doubting marijuana’s medicinal capability’s since enough proof exists to confirm them. It’s just that drugs are very, very bad if not used correctly. If it would become legal in usa, a lot of people would, just like with alcohol, use it to “self-medicate”, doing more harm than good.

Although something that really should be removed is tobacco. Is there ANY positive effect of using it?

Legalizing it in one state (this thread) would have no effect on the DEA. The DEA is a federal agency, so in their eyes it’s still illegal.

executing people is hard in a democratic nation. The people voting would have to agree to the executions’.
