Whenever I try to start it up, I get a black screen, internal exception occurred and crash, no matter what folder i direct it to

You should rederect it to the folder with the .exe of the game is.

Can you play this game, without using this Infinity Trainer ? If the game doesn’t launch properly even via STEAM, then maybe the game files might be corrupt, and/or there might be an issue with your current operating system/OS.

A black screen issue could indicate anything, from either a registry, device driver issue, and/or it could be related to the GPU drivers itself. Though, if you can play all other games in your current setup, then you can rule this out.

What are your full PC specs ? Are you on a fresh OS install ? Make sure to run Infinity as an ADMIN, and disable any antivirus/firewall, for the time being.

the game works fine so long as I don’t launch the trainer.

Never had a problem like this with any other game, even when using infinity.

Specs:
intel i5-6300hq cpu, 2.30 GHz
900 GB hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M
8 GB ram

It came with windows 10, so I think so. tried and also tried
