Sid Meier's Civilization VI Cheats and Trainer for Steam

Hey! Just a heads up — it’s not necessarily that the Civ 6 trainer is broken. It looks like 2K is starting to implement the same server-side checks in Civ 6 that we’re seeing in Civ 7.

The game seems to be syncing your account progression online, and it can detect when things like gold, culture, or dates are being altered — even in single-player. Once it flags those changes, it can crash the game, freeze units, or redirect you to their Code of Conduct page.

Even having WeMod running in the background (without cheats active) can sometimes trigger it. And trying to bypass those server checks likely violates 2K’s Terms of Service and Code of Conduct, so trainer developers probably won’t risk adding deeper-level workarounds (LUA) etc.

Until 2K gives us a proper sandbox mode or official cheat toggle, there might not be a reliable fix.

Are the new toggleable cheats going to come to civ 6?

Hey @darkdemon40, What do you mean by the new cheats?

There was added cheats/functionality added in for many trainers. I highly doubt they’ll be added to Civ VI

My game crashes often, when I use WeMod. Either that, or it freezes up.

If I try to use this trainer to make a city hurry the production of a wonder (in singleplayer), will I get banned? I like to play with my friend online so I’d like to avoid being banned.

WeMod is designed only to work with Singleplayer. Online mode is not supported.

Got a question - when this mod is enabled - does it apply to all Civs or just your own?

Your own, other civs are not affected, I’m assuming you are referring to single player games.

This is exactly what’s going on. The trainer will still work if you launch the game, disconnect your Internet connection, then launch the trainer and cheats. You can save the game normally and just load the save file without the cheats enabled, while connected to the Internet, if you later want to resume “normal” play.

So, in the end – the cheats don’t work unless you jump through the hoops.

Right, but blame the game developer for messing with how we play a single-player game. It makes no sense that they are trying to implement anti-cheat checks in Civ single player :frowning: It’s not the mod developer’s fault at all.

True, but core thuth is – mods don’t work. Would be best to put a disclaimer that due to developer’s change the mods now don’t work, maybe leave option for older versions to be available if anyone wants to go back.

I’ve managed to edit some live values with CE, so maybe it’s not impossible for single player games?

These mods are completely broken now, they can’t be used normally in a single-player session. The game just crashes and throws up an error report.
