Is he verifying that you can ‘add game manually’ on Xbox and it will work? Can anybody with the version verify for me?
I just clicked it but there is presently no linked trainer, that’s my bad. I have absolutely no idea why it even appears in that drop down list for me.. it’s like the option was initially added, but then nothing was ever attached to the option.
I see that many people’s WeMod apps don’t even show it at all and that just makes more potential conflict when answering here.
I don’t think the Xbox install folder will even allow you to access it in order to do that.. it’s disturbingly difficult to get into the Xbox Games install directory, and basically impossible to change anything in it.. at least for as long as it takes until the application handshakes with the Xbox app, then it just resets the changes you brute forced anyway..
That folder directory has basically got a deep freeze encryption where even if you get in it and make changes, it just reverts back to its initial state within a few moments or as soon as you use the program..
Btw, don’t rely on anyone else confirming something like that for ya, in the time it takes you to type your post you could have answered that question for yourself lol it’s one of those
Thanks Fling. Great work
hey i was just wondering if its possable to add a no clip option? incase you miss a missable object in the town so you can phase through reality to go get said item?
Would it be possible to add an auto dodge or auto counterattack option? Thanks!
how does the teleport mod work?
Microsoft has not installed games in the protected UWP folder for several years, with the notable exception of Minecraft.
Most games are now installed in the XboxGames folder (incl. Silent Hill f), which is accessible to users.
The primary difference between the Steam and Microsoft Store versions of a game lies in how the game is packaged and managed.
Oh, really? Cause none of my game installs on the Xbox App are accessible right now, I’m getting the you are not permitted to modify files in this folder thing. Are you sure about your information? Nothing I do can get me any access to that install directory.. without a lot of brute force measures at least.
Maybe they removed it for the games you own? Now I want to test this, because the Game Pass directory is fort Knox
I never remember owned games ever being restricted with the install location, so maybe that’s what it is.. and before you give a duh, most people don’t buy pc games from MS if it’s helpable, we just use game pass haha
I can confirm the XboxGames folder is accessible on my end, no need for super-owner permissions. Only the WindowsApps folder is protected. You should check the installation path. If a game is installed in the XboxGames folder, you can add the game’s Shipping.exe via the WeMod app, and probably the Steam trainer will work fine.
Yep, you can access Xbox for PC game files, but if you manually add the .exe file to WeMod, the mod won’t start. It’s either a WeMod limitation, or you need to add the second executable — SHf-WinGDK-Shipping.exe instead of SHf.exe. But I haven’t had any luck with that either, since WeMod just throws an error saying I don’t have permission to access the file and all that blah blah blah.
You mean the standalone trainer from FLiNG’s site? Yeah, I can confirm some of the mods work, but not all of them
So, a number of Pass installed games the only thing you can access is the exe (like you can use WeMod to point to it manually), but the install directory for the game is protected. If you own the game, though, everything you said is completely correct. Every Xbox App game I own is fully accessible in terms of install directories. A handful of the ones on Game Pass I installed are the same way, but most install inside of a protected folder, and that’s where the confusion from my end came from. I thought they ALL installed like that, I thought Microsoft was including their own sort of DRM effect lol just on most of the Game Pass installs. If you buy it, though, it installs in a perfectly accessible location like expected. Hell, if you buy it after it’s installed via Game Pass, it reinstalls the game out of that protected folder directory
I guess given it’s Microsoft, their own games app would have all the pull in the world to further DRM Game Pass titles so you couldn’t just lift the folder and put it elsewhere or something nefarious.. a small subscription fee for full access to pirate their library is sort of a liability haha
I already pointed out that you need to add the game’s …-Shipping.exe(never add the bootstrapper executable for any UE game;SHf.exe, in this case) from the unrestricted XboxGames game folder for the Steam trainer to work. First, launch the game, then ALT+TAB from the game’s main menu to select Play in WeMod to load the trainer.
Also, if your XboxGames folder has limited permissions set, tweak it to grant Special/Unrestricted read/write permissions for your local user (or better, all users). You may want to Google to know how to do this.
Hi FLiNG, I’d like to ask if it’s possible to add a wall-clipping or flying mode. Currently, cutscenes are triggered unavoidably, and the only way to bypass them is to delete the save file and start over. Thanks!
Does anyone know how the silent hill f teleport mod works? Every time I try to use it I get teleported outside the map.
Nevermind I figured it out. if anyone else is curious you save your current position with save location and then when you press teleport it brings you back there.
and then undo does what is says where it undoes the teleport bring you back to the position you were at before teleporting back to your saved spot.
Any chance we could get an option for Upgrades to not require Ema? I’m missing 3 and not very excited about having to search everything again.
There are no restrictions on the XboxGames folder, that issue is specific to your setup.
As a mod author, I’ve successfully modded a wide range of games installed in the XboxGames folder without any problems, including Hogwarts Legacy, Silent Hill f, Palworld, Starfield, and many others.
You going by outdated information and confusing the WindowsApps folder with the XboxGames folder.
The only exception is Minecraft that is still installed on WindowsApps, but we just sideload it, as changing the permissions of WindowsApps is not recommended in any shape or form.
Is also as the other guy said, the SHf.exe is just a launcher, you guys need to hook into the proper game executable SHf-WinGDK-Shipping.exe
Can anyone help me why does my game crashes everytime i try to open it in wemod. im playing SHf btw. pls help me. the game works fine without cheat but if i used wemod it crashes
