Skyrim Can't Replace savegame.dat file

Ok I’m new to horizon and to the 360 modding universe, I used horizon to extract my original savegame.dat from my main skyrim character in an attempt to reaquire shadowmere(I lost her), I opened the extracted savegame.dat in hex workshop and replaced the purchaseable horse at whiterun stables with shadowmeres hex refId and saved it to the desktop under the same name, however when I went into horizon to replace the original savegame.dat with the modded one an error occurred saying something about signatures and something else, can anyone help me to solve this issue, any help would be greatfully appreciated

Also does my Xbox profile also need to be present for it to work?

You can’t mod Skyrim saves by hex editing the savegame.dat

You extract the savegame.dat, rename it to savegame.ess, and then open the savegame on Skyrim PC version. You can then use console commands to edit the save properly.

Oh I see this explains everything then, thank you Zodiac for your response and I’m sorry I did not get back to you sooner, is there a way I can request to have my save modded?

Yes there is… Im quite surprised nobody answered back. Just go through the elder scrolls community posts… i for one am modding saves but you must have the commands… Look through the official skyrim wiki for all commands

EDIT: (Can’t believe i responded to a dead post XDD)
