Photography seems to be in fashion around the forums lately, so I thought I would share some of mine… (All images are original and natural, nothing has been edited.)
Photography is in because of phones. No joke, I got into photography when I got my first iPhone, the 4S and Instagram was on Apple only. Started doing unique shots for Instagram and I really liked it. Now I’m paid to be a photographer and graphic designer and video editor for an exotic car magazine.
If you can’t afford a DSLR, don’t under estimate the iPhone camera. More megapixels isn’t always good. 8MP does great. Also the new Samsung Galaxy and Note have AMAZING cameras. The cameras in high end phones these days are better than point and shoots.
Also, with image one, whats with all the noise? Other than that great shots. If you aren’t familiar with Photoshop try Adobe Lightroom for edits. Its a powerful yet simple tool to utilize for photography.
The top image was taken by a phone camera. As I am sure you know, they don’t perform too well at night time or low lighting conditions. At least not in my experience.
7 is the only unique one. The others are amateur, especially the first. Photography isnt as easy as pulling your phone out, and you should accept that criticism before being offended. You don’t seem to give angles to things, you snap them as things and not as imagery, they lack a viewpoint and it seems a waste. 7 mixes the side angle with lighting and it works perfectly. The others are amateur at best. That’s my honest opinion. Invest in a great camera and don’t give up on it. Photography is amazing.
The first image was simply on the spot, I had no better camera with me to take it with. Photography is amazing. If I feel like pursuing it as career, I will invest in a more significant camera. Until then, I am happy with my images.
Invest into a camera for the fun, not for a job. I can tell you its really hard to get a job as a photographer if you don’t have background in graphic design or video editing you won’t get a job as a photographer.
Yea, I can agree with this. I have always wanted a better camera, one that has interchangeable lenses and can extra attachments etc. but they can be expensive. If/when I decide to get something new, I will approach you for some more input.
Yup, DSLRs are nice. I spent around ~$4,500 on my camera body and two lens. Buy a basic Canon T3I and a wide angle lens and go from there. Don’t go crazy with cameras and lens’ if you don’t know how to properly utilize em, its a waste. Learn about exposure, lighting, focus, etc. before buying a camera full of features you don’t know how to properly use.
