But it still not work

Hi,

Mods are still not working despite @MrAntiFun stating 3 hours ago that the cheats have been updated (see screen grab below).

When I hover over the various mods it says “This mod is temporarily disabled while we update it”

When will the update be completed? Hopefully within the next day or two at most. But please get onto this urgently I get so very few opportunities to game.

Please fix this very soon, ideally today.

Hey @AeleronsWrath! Have you tried restarting the app? If that doesn’t work, head to mod versions, switch to the previous version, and then switch back to the latest!

Hey @Patrick thank you for your speedy reply I appreciate it! I tried the steps you sugguested and I am now getting an in-game message saying “the mod data loaded does not match the mod data used originally to play this game” (or something to that effect).

I mean I could try a game repair but I dont know what else I could try?

@Patrick

Nevermind I got it working. I think it has something to do with loading saved games that are during missions that was the issue. I loaded the last save before the mission when still on the ship and it loaded fine.

All good!

Hi,

The game crashes to desk to for me now when I launch Wand. I’ve tried it in a level, the mission select and at the main screen. I;ve also tried rolling back to an older mod version but same thing happens. Is this a known issue?

Hey @DorianOtten

I started having the same issue just now. I have tried repairing the game, closing wand and relauncing it, plus your steps you mentioned as well. Nothing has worked so far! Hopefully this issue is fixed soon!

@DorianOtten hello again.

So I looked up the error code blizzard kept spitting out when I tried and turns out it has something to do with how the game, wand etc are communicating with my graphics card. I updated the drivers, reset my computer and it now works fine! Maybe try updating your graphics card, resetting your PC and try again?

Hope this works for you!

Hi,

I tried updating the driver and restarting the PC but didn’t work unfortunately.

Cheers for the advise though, I appreciate it

@DorianOtten

Hi mate,

I dont want to assume anything but did you try looking up the error code you keep getting to see if there is a fix for what challenges you are experiencing? The drivers and restarting worked for me because the error code I was getting told me what the likely issue was. You might be having a different issue with a different error?

If you were getting the same error as me and you indeed did update your graphics card drivers and reset your computer and it is still not working the next possible fixes I would sugguest would be:

  • Make sure your game is up to date
  • Doing a Scan/Repair of your game and then restart your computer if that does not work then,
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling your game and then restart your computer. If that does not work then,
  • Make sure you have the most up to date version of Wand/WeMods and that you have selected the most up to date version of the mods.
  • Double check you definately have the most up to date drivers for your graphics card (I dunno if you have AMD or NVIDA chipset, but with NVIDA you can sometimes look up if there are any known bugs or glitches regarding specific games. If none of that is the issue, try either reinstalling the drivers (sometimes they dont install properly) and/or revert to an older set of drivers (making sure to restart your computer after which applies to both reinstalling or reverting to older versions)
  • If that does not work, you can try running the game in windowed mode as there might be some fullscreen specific issues. You can do this by by opening the Variables.txt file (usually in Documents/StarCraft II) and adding displaymode=0
  • You could also try deleting the Battle.net Cache/files as this might resolve any potential corrupted files you can do this by pressing the Windows Key + R and running %ProgramData%
  • You can try disabling Overlays from discord GeForce Experience (if relevant) as this can interfere with graphics API calls
  • Another thing to try would be to make sure your Windows client is up to date with all updates installed (let me know if you dont know how to do this but if you go to windows settings you can select Windows Update and in there you should be able to see if you have any outstanding updates to download/install)
  • I would also make sure that you are running Battle.net as administrator (I assume you are but putting this in to cover all possible bases)
  • I do believe that sometimes with Intel UHD Graphics cards or other cards with Intel integrated graphics can frequently cause errors such as the one I was experiencing
  • you could also be experiencing issues from too many apps running on start up. You can check this by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open task manager, then click More Options, Select Startup tab and from there you will see a list of apps that run upon start up. I would disable as many as you can. For me, anything that does not absolutely need to run on start up I would disable (but that is me, you do you, its just it is possible an app or more could be contributing to your issue).
  • Finally, if none of that works perhaps try (if you havent already) googling the specific problem you are having keeping in mind the more specific you are in your query/question to google the better chances of getting a proper response.

I did a bit of googling for you and many people with the e_gfxErrorAPIError error found help in updating graphics drivers. This got me thinking, I have an NVIDA card and so I use the NVIDA app to download and install graphic drivers. I assume (but can be wrong) that you use the appropriate app/platform for your graphics card? If you do, and you have tried all the above potential fixes AND you are still having issues AND you have already tried googling yourself, then I am kinda out of ideas at this point…

I hope you find a solution that works for you. If you do get the game working again, I would be very keen to know what did it for you.

Otherwise, good luck I hope you find a fix soon!

Kind Regards,

Aerleon

EDIT: Did a little bit of extra digging. It seems some people had some success by:

  • Disabling their shaders.
  • I have also seen some redit posts saying people with AMD cards sometimes have issues like this and AMD seem to be quite slow to update drivers or provide fixes to this.
  • Addtionally, people with AMD cards seem have some success by lowering the graphics settings in-game.

Finally, I also found a guide on this issue specifically heres the link: [SOLVED] Starcraft 2 Crashing on PC - Driver Easy

Many of the steps on the linked page/guide do already appear on the list I have already given you, but there are a couple of extra steps that might be relevant and therefore work for you.

Best of luck! I hope something works for you! Please let me know how you go, I would be keen to find out what ends up being your solution.

Hi,

Thanks for the comprehensive response. I did all of the above and it seemed to be the windowed mode; changing that sorted it.

Cheers for all the help!

Awesome! glad you got it working! I ended up having the error again and putting the game in windowed mode worked straight away!

Glad this is fixed for you! I hope if any other people have a similar issue that they will come accross this thread and it will fix it for them!

Happy Gaming!
