If I can find the time between work and so forth, I’ll test again using just those specific options on a new save. Maybe Valiant @Veloxia also has the game installed?
As far as I am aware, WeMod trainers have not been known to disable achievements in any Steam games to this date.
However, other external mods, such as those from NexusMods - even if they just enhance graphics and are not considered “cheats” - will. And so will opening the in-game console.
If you use mods other than WeMod or have ever opened the in-game dev console (even accidentally), then you will need to use this to re-enable achievements:
Have you been launching the game from WeMod? If so, try launching it via Steam first before hitting Play on WeMod.
Another thing to check is if you have the Save Mods feature enabled for the trainer. If so, try turning it off and manually enabling those selected mods.
Thanks @Ravenfyre and @Veloxia for your replies. Before seeing them I tried putting the XP and skill points back to zero. I don’t know if that made any difference. When I tried to run Starfield with the mod it didn’t start, yet when I tried a second time not only did it start but I was able to play it with no crashing for about 2 hours. Somehow it might have sorted itself out, though I’m not sure yet. If I have any more problems with it I’ll be sure to try your two suggestions @Veloxia.
It may be due to the mods, unfortunately.
The trainers at WeMod are intended for the base game itself, or vanilla version.
If it doesn’t work alongside a mod, it is unfortunate.
Yeah don’t use Nexus’ Vortex. It’s very badly optimised and breaks some mods too. Best to install mods manually until a proper mod manager is released.
The team that made the proper mod managers for Skyrim and Fallout are working on one for Starfield.
On that note - using Starfield Script Extender (SFSE)? Click here.
Has anyone else encountered an issue when enabling “Compansion Affinity Always goes up”? It seems that whenever I enable that feature - after a random amount of time - the game will crash during a transition. I’ve had it occur several times shortly after enabling that feature so I am certain it’s what’s causing the crashes.
There’s a different achievement enabler as well, that doesn’t require to you o also install the Starfield Script Extender like the Baka one does. Past experience with SFSE and its variants, I would stick away fro them until bethesda is done doing its regular patching because you might end up screwed and unable to play unless you remove all of the mods linked to SFSE until they update it to match bethessda.
SFSE will warn you if any mods are outdated when you launch the game. You can then check Nexus for updates, or simply disable them until they’re updated if not.
I have sound problems all the time and also locking up when climbing stairs in ships. When either happen, I have to exit, close We, run the gaem without We to get past that point, then exit and start again.
I have not use We to modify the game speed. Always left that alone. I was not aware you can launch it from steam 1st, but I’ll give that a Try. I always just launch it from WeMod directly.
I have sound issues too like other users. Pretty weird issue and related to WeMod because that don’t happen while launching the game without WeMod.
So, for those who dislike the Alt-Tab solution, just launch the game using Steam then when you see the launching window on Steam just click Play on WeMod after. The game will be launched with Steam and WeMod will detect it after so no need to Alt-Tab.
Depends on the player’s PC specs. Sometimes on some PCs this may actually launch WeMod before the game and therefore WeMod may override the Steam launch. Or if Steam is busy due to cloud uploading etc, it may trigger an injection failure since the game won’t launch during such activity.
The way to get better control over cheats - including the ability to launch them from your mobile device or from within the game itself, is to go Pro to support the trainer development.
I have already done the method to launch the game with Steam then click on Play after the Steam window game launch and all is good, never have any issue. WeMod takes some times to load for Starfield, when launching the game from Steam or WeMod so that leaves the time to Steam to launch it completely and to WeMod to detect the game as already launched.
Patch as of 10/10: All options appear to still be working though the max legend drop rate is kind of odd. It seems to be giving me all packs and bridgers. Not sure if loot pool is determined by enemy type?
