The Last Caretaker Cheats and Trainer for Steam

The update went hot. Pretty quick flash to bang!

Thank you for the update @Sandvix

Thank you, very appreciated!

Thank for the Update!!!.

Is it possible to have an option where when repairing stuff it doesn’t use materials?

I know technically you could just dismantle the item and free craft it.

Appreciate the update since the last game update completely broke the mods.

Is the free crafting one not working now though?

I am still having this issue, is anyone else able to load the game with teh mod enabled?

I was able to play the game using Wand perfectly yesterday. Had no issues whatsoever with both Wand and NexusMods on my game.
I did get a warning that the cheats may be outdated, but I ignored it. They worked anyway.

Bear in mind, the trainer, as always, is designed for the public branch of the game, not the beta branch. Beta branches are temporary, so it’s a waste of time and money creating trainers for them. And for the store-bought version from Steam, not a cracked/pirated version.

I am still having issues… just will not load for me anymore. I tried reinstalling the software etc. And nothing has changed on my PC. Any other ideas i can try? I check my firewall etc. and it’s all allowed to connect.

Intriguing.
It might be a good idea to generate and upload an error log to get a better idea of what’s happening:

  1. Try the trainer again until it fails, to generate a fresh error log.

  2. Click your username in the top-right of Wand, choose Settings.

  3. Under “General”, click “Save Log” to save the latest error log to your PC.

  4. Upload the log to a post here by clicking the button on the post toolbar that looks like an arrow jumping out of a rectangle.

Using the Developer Cheat Boosters (which is what Max Out Boat Engines does) makes it hard to park your boat and also damages/destroys any vehicles, like the gyrocopter, that are on your boat (I guess due to excessive bumping waves).

Probably a bit late now, but for anyone else who has this issue, you have two options:

  1. Go below deck and remove the Cheat Boosters from your two engines.
    Or
  2. Use a third-party mod that enables the developer console in-game: https://www.nexusmods.com/thelastcaretaker/mods/21. (Once installed and activated, press F1 in-game, go to the “Cheats” tab, then under the “Boat” options, choose one of the boosters other than “Cheat Boosters”). (Note: If you have a cheat in the trainer tied to F1, you’ll need to change it).

The console also has other helpful options, like killing all the excessive enemies in a 100m radius if they are causing your game to stutter.

The trainer should really have an option to disable this cheat. It’s already possible in the game itself via the dev console, so it’s definitely possible to do in the trainer, too.

Well here is the log. Maybe it will help.

Thank you for sharing the log!

I noticed two issues within it.

1) Version Mismatch

One particular line in that log states:
"game_version": 3747157228, "game_version_supported": false

  • What this means: The trainer detects the game, but cannot properly hook into the running process.
  • Why it matters: Trainers rely on official game binaries and an active Steam connection to locate memory addresses. Modified, unpatched, or standalone game files shift these internal pointers, causing version mismatches.

2) Steam Account Not Found

Another section of the log shows:

DEBUG [SteamLocalconfig] Reading loginusers.vdf from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\loginusers.vdf
DEBUG [SteamLocalconfig] loginusers.vdf has no user with MostRecent
DEBUG [SteamLocalconfig] No current Steam account resolved
  • What this means: The app checked your local Steam setup, but found no active or recently logged-in Steam account.
  • Why it matters: Official Steam titles require an active background Steam session to authenticate the player and link the game to the trainer properly.

What Typically Causes These

  1. Launching via Game .exe directly: Double-clicking the game executable directly from secondary drive folders (e.g., E:\SteamLibrary\...) without opening Steam first can cause Steam authentication checks to fail.
  2. Antivirus Interference: Overprotective antivirus or security software can block tools from reading configuration files (like loginusers.vdf) or prevent memory injection into game processes.
  3. Modified or Cracked Copies: Standalone or cracked game releases bypass Steam’s DRM entirely and alter .exe files. This causes both the missing Steam account error and the version mismatch failure.

Possible Solutions

  • Launch via Steam Client: Ensure the Steam desktop client is running, you are logged into your account, and you launch the game directly from the Steam launcher’s library itself (rather than a shortcut or executable file on E: where you’ve installed the game).
  • Antivirus Exclusions: Add both the trainer and your game directory to your Antivirus whitelist or exclusion list to ensure local file reading and memory hooks aren’t being silently blocked.
  • Verify Game Files: If using an official copy, right-click the game in your Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files to ensure you are running the official build matching the trainer’s supported version. Note that this will likely uninstall any third-party Nexus mods you’ve added to your game. (If your game is cracked, you’ll need to purchase an official copy from Steam).

If you’re still having issues, feel free to send an email to support@wand.com so they can take a deeper look. You can link this post in your message so they know what you’ve already checked.

Hey thanks for all the great help. I really appreciate your efforts in trying to help me figure this out. I have tried all your suggestions. The steam Client is definitely running and I’m logged in. I even moved the game files to Drive C to see if that helped. I did this because some of the Mods on Nexus seem to work better if all the files were in the default locations. All the mods I tried on Nexus work for me. And all my other games work with Wand it’s just The Last caretaker that I am having issues with and it used to work and then one day it stopped. I re-verified all the files, and everything seems fine with the game. I make a ton of YouTube videos on The Last Caretaker (one of the more popular channels) and I like to use wand in between moments where I need to grind for a bit and turn on the Fast Run and No Weight restrictions. It’s become a handy tool for my recordings, so I do not spend hours on all the boring grind stuff that don’t show on the videos.

I have everything excluded in the firewall, on my PC and in my Mesh Network as well in the Antivirus.

I wonder if I uninstall The Last Caretaker and reinstall it if I will lose my saves? The game was given to me by the Devs but as far as I can tell it’s the same as the full release. Sometimes Devs will give me a press release version of games, but this does not seem to be that.

I do not know why the logs show No Current Steam Account or Version Mismatch, sometimes Wand would crash out when loading the game or the game itself would crash when loading maybe that’s what that is.

Anyway I really appreciate all the help. Maybe on the next update things will get fixed for me.

I had the same issue, I tried activating the trainer when in the main menu or even by starting the game through the wand app. Loading into the game itself and then activating the mods worked for me, if that doesnt work for you maybe just to test try it in a new game (thats what im in right now and it worked immediately).

Hello, Thanks for the updates!! really appreciate it.

I know its a big ask would it be possible to have the mods work for the Beta version?

Wand does not create mods for the beta versions of games, no. The reason being because beta versions are:

  • Constantly updated, meaning trainers need constant updates, which takes the trainer creator’s time away from other games, leading to complaints about how long updates are taking.
  • Temporary. They are eventually deleted, making a remnant trainer created for that beta version completely useless and a waste of Wand’s finite resources.

As an alternate, you can see if a dev console enabler mod works on the beta version such as: https://www.nexusmods.com/thelastcaretaker/mods/230. Though, heads up, I have yet to see a Nexus Modder for The Last Caretaker specifically indicate that their mod works on the beta versions.
