Never before have I had to re-login…so why all of a sudden…is this someone running a scam
Hello there!
Your login session is stored on your computer as a small piece of data called a “cookie.” Cookies are used by websites, apps, and software to remember you, so you don’t have to log in every time you visit.
There are several reasons why you might suddenly need to re-login:
- Cookie Expiry: Most cookies have a set lifespan, after which they expire. If your cookie has expired, you’ll need to log in again.
- Clearing Cookies: If you’ve cleared your browser’s cookies manually or used a tool to clean up your computer, your saved session will be erased.
- Browser Settings: Some browsers are set to reject or automatically clear cookies after a certain period or when you close the browser.
- Incognito/Private Browsing: In incognito mode, cookies are not saved once the session ends, requiring you to log in each time.
- VPN Usage or IP Address Change: If you’re using a VPN or your IP address changes frequently, the website might request a re-login for security reasons to verify your identity.
- Browser or Software Updates: Updates to your browser or certain system settings can overwrite or reset cookies.
In other words, the reason why your cookies - aka your login session - keeps resetting is due to a reason that is entirely on your side of the computer.
I am not experiencing the same as you.
