Xbox Live Shutting Down Late 2016?

Hi guys i was looking on a video of a guy reviewing a xbox 360 and he is saying in late 2016 xbox live will be shutting down tell me this is wrong cause isnt the first xbox ever made still work on xbox live

Rumor has it that the 360 is gonna be shut down to push the One sells.
Its time to get with the future and not be stuck in the past.
Because these new games are being held back just to keep the 360 community happy.
But this has been said forever ago and as far as i know i don’t think its true.
Seems like its time to get a job and start saving!

MS already said they were going to quit supporting xbox 360 3 or 4 years after the launch of the xbox one. Unless something changed the original xbox doesn’t work on live anymore as the support for it was dropped in 2010.

I don’t think they’ll pull the plug in just over a year from now. 360 still has enough life left in it survive at least another 2 years as an online console. I think M$ knows it’s still bringing in decent $ and will keep it Live as long as they can.

I agree with you, but conversely they also have enough money to not keep it alive and to make people who want to play on Xbox Live to buy a new-gen console.

OR, save the $350 and buy a PC, you’ll never have to pay for playing online AND you don’t need to buy next-gen consoles, only next-gen hardware. I finally got The Witcher 3 and holy damn the requirements to run that are insane (to me).

They said they were dropping support 3 years after the Xbox one came out. While they may not get rid of XBL immediately they may quit updating and ask all developers to move to next gen only so they can get the money from that.

i was just talking to a guy from Xbox and he told me that this is not true he said if it was Xbox them self would say it on new.xbox.com don’t listen to anyone besides them he told me they wouldn’t just shut xbox live down for 360 because there is a lot of games on the 360 that the multiplayer is 99% of some games like call of duty games and so on plus as long as ppl still buy games/systems/Gold/ and avatar stuff it wont be shut down. also @Geozoide playing on a pc is much harder then a xbox or play station i tried to play on steam once i got Saints row 3 with all DLC and when it finished downloading it said i couldn’t play even tho my pc is a pavilion all in one playing a PC just seems stupid.

I’m gonna go ahead and guess your PC is running integrated graphics, and you can’t even run minecraft with that lol

i bet to but still why waste over 500 bucks on a pc that is just ment for playing games when u can buy a xb1 for 399 and have same thing

WAT? You can buy a PC for the price of an Xbox one and get the same performance. PC is cheaper anyways, rarely do I pay more than $35 for a new game and we have no monthly subscription fees. 10 years of XBL = $600
300 xbox games = $1800

10 years of PC = $0
300 PC games = $1200

You ultimately save money

As Chris said, in the long run the money you spend is much less. But also, you can upgrade a PC but you can’t upgrade an Xbox One. So a single PC will go a long way whereas a console will become obsolete just as the Xbox 360 is eventually going to become.

It’s not a waste. And just because it’s called a “Gaming PC” doesn’t mean that all it can do is play games. That extra power is going to help you out in every way possible, whether it’s GFX/video editiing, media playback, internet stuff etc… It’s a high performance computer so look at it like that.

I think you forgot a zero on each of those totals. Big difference between $1,800/1,200 & $18,000/12,000.

I still get what you’re saying. I think we’ll be upgrading our PCs soon and skipping the X1/PS4 thing altogether. Just makes sense.

Although in addition to a nice PC, I like to play ALL my games with a controller. Maybe it’s because I grew up playing on consoles with controllers and only just sort of recently started playing PC games, but I think it’s just easier to enjoy a game with a controller.

I thought it seemed too small but for some reason I kept thinking it was right.

Hahaha $1800 for 300 games puts them at $6 a game, as if that’d ever be true.

That’s crazy to put it into perspective, but I guess 300 games is a lot of games.

It isn’t impossible. I bought over 100 games for less than $5 through humble bundle. I mean they are nothing I really want to play but I still have them.

For console though? I know on PC games can be a lot cheaper, but when I was buying games for Xbox 360, they’d always be exactly $62.99 or something and would drop down after a year or so.

You’re right though, it depends on what games you’re buying

Pretty much what Chris said. PC games will always perform better and look better. You can open them up and install upgrades. Try doing that with an xbox one

Laptops are great for internet browsing and other low-resource demanding tasks and a xbox 360 works fine for playing games and watching netflix. Build a pc if you have the money but i wouldn’t suggest it if you struggle for cash.
