Not at all, the Kinect is a ground breaking piece of technology. No other company has come close to the level of the Kinect 2.0. I do think they implemented it wrong. It should’ve been marketed as a separate item completely, perhaps as a windows peripheral that works with windows and Xbox which is completely open source. I understand why they bundled it with the Xbox, but it just didn’t work how they intended. You seriously can’t knock them for trying to change the game with something can you? Just sell the thing if it makes you that upset. If you look at the original price of the console, if I remember correctly, the Kinect cost around £90 on top of the console price? You can buy 1080p Logitech webcams for £85 TODAY. ****ing bargain if you ask me.
TLDR; Kinects have been used in hospitals to help surgery and save lives. Stfu. [details=Open Me]

The Xbox is the underdog here. When I saw the unveiling of both systems, I saw a clear potential for the Xbox. Microsoft built Xbox Live & multiplayer gaming, trophies and has funded several AAA titles that have changed gaming (made Bungie what they are today). They have spent a lot of money on aquiring Skype and all this server power, just to make their products more seamless behind the scenes. You’ll never even notice that they spend billions on severs just so you can store your saves and footage online for free… They’ve also done games for gold/free games, exclusive DLC and supported indie developers with a platform to help them develop and be successful on.
Phil Spencer and Major Nelson have done a fantastic job in the past year or so, communicating directly with the gaming community on Reddit, Twitter and other places. They’ve accepted new ideas, criticism and rejected a few things that doesn’t fit their visions. They’ve acted upon most of the strong feedback they’ve gotten. Big respect for them doing that.
In my line of work, I get access to Microsoft Expertzone, which allows people to learn about new products and provides discounts and freebies. From what i’m aware of, Sony doesn’t have anything like this.
The new dashboard is going to fix the slowness of the console. 50% speed increase and all these shortcuts. They’ve also added backwards compatibility. In the future the Oculus Rift will be plug and play compatible, HoloLens will be bringing augmented reality. and they have the power of the cloud coming to games in the future. They’re coming back strong. Not to mention that the Xbox One is now cheaper than the PS4.
TLDR 2; It’s like a drag race. PS4 had a really good launch, flawless gear shifts, but is gonna be over taken by some raw power somewhere down the line.
