Achievement Unlocker for Infinity?

We dont know what Valve will do in the future, but VAC bans is not going to ban this for now i believe.

But it seems like Valve dont care at all about it, ive searching around and seen people been posted on community forum for steam. People telling that he/she should get banned for “hacking” achievement.

Seems like those people are fine, even the one on my friends list.

This is my main steam account, 92% completion. If you check TF2 for example, you’ll see everything was unlocked in February of 2012, I have still not received punishment for it. Like @i_like_food has mentioned, it’s highly likely that Valve will do nothing about this, especially at this point.

(My bans are from CSGO and BO3 for hacking, not achievements.)

“People” are not reliable. I get told almost every game I play of CS: GO that they “cannot wait to see me VAC banned”, 2 years later… Not vac banned.

Anyone claiming they get VAC banned for something other than a cheat that gives an in game advantage is lying.

Its what im saying about no ban is comming for poeple using SAM, nothing happands, even if people get thrown posted at Valve’s forum.
Ive seen peole been posted there, and that says a guy cheated. You say people arent reliable, but when you see someone post a complaint against another player and nothing happands on 3 years.

Meaning Valve dont give a s***

Just to chime in here. From my understanding SAM will NOT get you VAC banned unless you have SAM running while having a VAC-Enabled game running. Usually it’s kids who don’t read the instructions or forget to close SAM. So if there was a way to get it so that Infinity will refuse to let you launch any Steam games while you’re unlocking achievements then it could be safer, but I can easily see a lot of people getting VAC bans from it because they can’t read.

They can still detect if you’ve used a blacklisted program without using it in game. If they really want to, they can scan your USN journal to see if you’ve used it. However, for something like this, they wouldn’t.

They use that method of detection for programs that do not get a handle on the games memory, example being, pixel aimbots that are just checking for colors on your screen. They’re not able to be detected through traditional methods that most anti-cheats use.

Even with all of that, I HIGHLY doubt they will do anything about this. Plus we’re talking VAC, which doesn’t affect the other thousands of games you could use it on.

Ok, maybe I’m just not getting the significance of this achievements thing… I can understand why some people would want certain types of cheats available (eg. get extra gold to avoid “unnecessary” grinding which often detracts from the enjoyment of a game, unlimited ammo, auto reload, god mode, etc.) at least in single player games. But to want to claim to have achieved certain milestones in a game that have NOT been earned (even with using a cheat) seems a little ludicrous. These achievements do nothing to advance the gameplay, but simply advertise to others that you have accomplished something that you haven’t… WHY???

I have a suggestion!!! How about for every game we develop a cheat that allows a player to go immediately to the end of the game with ALL achievements unlocked, ALL quests completed, EVERYTHING that can be accomplished or gained in the game maxed out?.. That would save a LOT of time that would have been wasted in playing the game through the “normal” way.

Don’t get me wrong… I use cheats, hints, game walkthroughs, etc. myself when a game gets too difficult or frustrating, or when I simply want the experience of going through the game to enjoy the graphics or simply to get the thrill of beating up a bunch of superior enemies without having to use too much brainpower and/or time to get it done the “right” way, but to unlock achievements by doing nothing other than entering a cheat code, I just don’t get that…

Oh, and by the way, I in no way support cheats that would give any player an unfair advantage in multiplayer games. If you want to win in a multiplayer game, practice and get BETTER than your opponent!

I dont cheat achievements myself.

But i know people want it so it could be a good edition to the site.
However this is a very old topic and i dont think Frank are going to make one.

Either way its just to download SAM if you want to cheat steam achievements. So there is already an option, but i thought they maybe could make some better functionality in a new SAM clone.

Anyway, whatever, it wont become something i think.
At least right now.

Wouldn’t mind an achievement unlocker for Windows Store Games

I agree with you but i understand why people like achievement unlockers. Even if pointless and useless, you still achieve something and that causes our reward centre in brain to light up like x-mas trees and that is an addicting feeling. Completely useless but fun and not even for showing off.
