I want to start off by thanking everyone who helped beta test Infinity 2.0! Our only regret is that we didn’t involve more people when we could have. Going forward we want to change that.
That’s why we’re assembling an A+ group of beta testers. We need people who love gaming and modding, and most importantly believe in the future of Infinity and WeMod.
While working closely with the developers, beta testers will be responsible for testing new features, staying on top of game version compatibility, and providing feedback. We’ll go into more detail if your application is accepted!*
(This is my opinion, unofficial respone, not a staff member, I’m just a random asshole, Chris will have an official response.)
You are both very new members who have done very little for this community, it would make no sence to make you beta testers. You are going to have to prove your worth before being able to demand promotions.
I don’t know how much they need beta testers so they might lower their standard, and just hand out titles to people without “proof” of commitment, what do I know.
Continue being active and contribute to the community and I’m sure you will get some perks eventually.
This post is probably going to be silently removed though.
I know and you have all right to say that because it is true.
I’ve give Frank an explanation about my life situation and with my education that it would be great to start with something that i’ve always wanted.
My education is just all about gaming “game design” and everything about a pc, hardware or software even scripting.
Next to this like you say we need to show them that we wanna help ths community to reach the top or just to come a bit higher.
It would be strange if they take us instead of you but if they need it and your information and experience if fine then i don’t see the point for disagree to people like me or @Patrick.Jr
I wouldn’t call it “lowering our standards.” We believe there are plenty of people out there who many not be as active in the forums, but are still passionate about Infinity. We wouldn’t have a big enough pool to choose from if we just chose active forum members. We’d also expect that a promotion will encourage participation.
I meant more lowering the minimum requirements for becoming a beta tester, not the entire company.
And I don’t think being active on the forum is required to be a beta tester, I just think it makes it easier to tell how dedicated the user is.
The perks are a good way of attracting users, but it will also attract users who are lying to get the perks. So it is best to be careful, which is what I meant with the standard thing.
@TechnicallBrains
Being a beta tester isn’t as glamorous as it would seem. It is a good way of helping out but it is mostly just reporting bugs and otherwise broken features, and sometimes early trainers.
I wouldn’t mind if you (or patrick) would be promoted as long as you filled your role[s].
It is just that you are very new and new users tend to disappear or do things “wrong” (since they don’t know the rules).
I would get familiar with the site and infinity before even thinking about beta testing.
I get your point and you are right it isn’t something that you would think easy about or something fun.
Working for a community is serious working and like you said there are always people who are lieëng or just trying to get promotion and then leave some community because they hope they are gonna suck or just downgrade.
Ofcourse to say from myself i know i’m not like that but i can’t prove that unless someone or me is getting a chance ofcourse.
Next to this even the people who are years online can be rollplaying as a spy or a miner.
So even if you are here a few weeks or a few years there is a difference but even the few year players who may be always online can betray the community ofcourse.
