Figured this out a few mintues ago after seeing someone on youtube bragging about having unlimited keys.
It is best to have two controllers for this (You get a new key on every account you make, but this is useful)
With the first controller sign in to your “main” account.
WIth the second controller open the guide and create a new offline profile.
Press start on the first controller and join the game with your new offline profile (Enabling split-screen)
You will see a message appear saying that you have a golden key available
Go to the chest with your offline profile and open it, take the contents with your “main” profile.
Sign out of the offline profile, create another offline profile, join the game, get another key.
Repeat.
There are ways to open the chest with your “main” account even if the guest is the one with the key, I haven’t figured out how though.
Feel free to try out some new things and post the results, maybe making new characters with the offline account? Let me know if you find something that works better.
The higher the level the better the loot, I recommend using a level 50 modded save for your offline profiles to get the best loot.
Currently I’m working on my own method. I have a GPD that contains 255 golden keys. Using the save that you provided I created a offline account and then started up the game and just went to the start menu. I then moved the offline profile to a flashdrive, inject the modded GPD and then replaced the ids on the Level 50 save to match the offline profile’s. I started the game with the offline profile and then my main account joined. So currently I am trying to fight my way to Sanctuary to get to the chest.
I’ll also mention that upon loading the modded save and gpd it said that I had 255 golden keys available.
*To note: I did not pre-order the game or have any previous golden keys.
I’ll provide a download link of the modded save IN Sanctuary and the .gpd after I have gotten there and confirmed it working.
If possible you should upload the offline account with the save so people just transfer the save and account, instead of having to make their own account and injecting the .gpd and changing the id’s for the gamesave, just a suggestion
I take no credit for the 255 golden keys. I found it on 360Haven. I believe xJACKASSx is working on the badass rank but who knows when that will be released.
Yeah, only problem with this is that the guns you get are level 6-8 due to the new profile being a level 1, this being said if you use the level 50 save on each profile you make you will be able to get level 46-50 weapons.
For the individual .gpd to work you must use an account that has not played Borderlands 2. Simply create an account and start up Borderlands and hit start, DO NOT play the game itself. After that Dashboard, move the profile to a flashdrive, and then replace the 5454087C.gpd with the modded one above.

tks, i’ll try to d/l that, but right now mega is giving me problems with the d/l not working for me. not just your save i almost always have prob with them trying to dump a bunch of extra crap into my puter. personally i use dropbox as they have a free 3 gb of storage and easy to use for pub access

btw, are these level 50 keys? or level 6 like you mentioned earlier. i got the other link to work for the level 50 keys, so all is good now
