Just to check, are you correctly following the instructions that are found under the info tab of the trainer? You’re forced to read them the first time you use the trainer, but it’s easy to forget after that. You can find them by pressing the “Info” tab in the trainer. It says:
In other words, don’t activate the trainer until you’ve loaded your game save.
