None of the old tricks seem to work in win 11, (CPU Core Reduction, updates, mem mods) - none work. Another person posted a fix about disabling Data Execution Prevention (DEP). In Win 11, it is a different process then they listed - but there are several videos and sites that can show you how to do it for your system. Once it found it and put in the exclusion for the Steam file "\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition/DAOriginslauncher) DAOrigins has been stable.
Hey! Please refer to the instructions provided above by a fellow WeMod user and check if the issue persists after following them. If the problem continues, let us know!
It still messes with the skins and crashes, even with only the health cheats on.
This is noted. We have reported the issue to the team, and theyâll have someone test it. Weâll get back to you as soon as we get updates.
It played longer, but still had graphic issues. By going to the Configuration Utility in DAO, selecting Video, changing Graphics Detail to Medium and Texture Detail to Medium, then close the game and start it again - it worked for several hours with no drop. I kept saving after battles and then after a few hours, backgrounds started going black. I saved and shut off the game because it seems like it was going to crash. Went back to it tonight and it is working fine again - over 1 hour. So to sum up, turn off DEP or add DAO as and exception for DEP and related and turn the graphics to medium. This is on Win 11 and seems to work OK - for now.
i was going to say there needs to be an add specialization points option

Hello. I donât know if this is the right place to talk about it, but wouldnât it be possible to make these mods available on the GOG version of the game?
I only have that version⌠I donât have the Steam version because itâs not available in French, my mother tongue.

So this doesnât seem to work for me, I purchased this game way back in 2009 I still have the Hard Disk. This was a BioWare game but sadly theyâre no longer with us. EA has since bought BioWare and they issued âUsâ new Product codes so that the game may be played through the EA launcher without the use of a CD.
Now I can use cheat engine on it, but its HIGHLY unstable and Crashes often! most noteably when its actively being used and your moving in the game, that or the Grey Warden Camp (current postion in game) is just unstable.
its either that or the EA launcher has some kind of detection running that just force crashes the game?
I mean its a single player game with no Multiplayer to speak of so that to me would seem far beyond overkill.
Currently all I really want is a few gold to buy a couple pieces of gear but it doesnât work in Cheat Engine and the Wemod trainer doesnât seem to load/recognize the EA version of the .exe

Sorry to to say, but it works even less now than it did a week ago. Back then I just couldnât remove the spells, now the game crashes as soon as I start Wemod (after starting the game and being in the game). I give up. ![]()
I have the same problem of the game crashing as soon as Wemod activates. ![]()
Hey! May I know if youâve followed the read before playing instructions? Make sure to use the most recent trainer version, which you can check by going to the Mods version under Mod settings.
Yes, I used the latest version and activated the trainer after the game world fully loaded.
Got it. Please try to Verify integrity Files by right-clicking on the game and click Properties. Click on the Local Files tab. Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files. Then force quit/close the WeMod App then re-launch the apps.
Iâve already done all that before. Now again, step by step and with the same result. I get into the game, am fully in, go to WeMod with ALT+Tab, start there with the latest version (3 Dec. 2024), want to go back into the game with ALT+Tab and the game closes. I canât even try to see if removing spells now works with the latest version. So Iâm really giving up, Iâm fed up! ![]()
It still crashesâŚ
Iâll let the team know and weâll have someone test it. Once tested and confirmed not working, it will be added into the queue that needs updating.
Seems pretty tricky to keep the mods going. I seem to have success only if I verify the files every time I load the game if I want to use the mods. Make sure it is at the latest version, (mine goes to the 5/18 version of the mods constantly) then after you hit play, quickly go to the game. If it says you are playing the game and the game isnât your active window, it will crash on me.
I would also suggest using the in game overly once you see the confirmation that the mods are active with Alt+W. Alt+Tab to bring up the screen is likely to cause some issues. Once I went to Ostigar, some textures didnât load, like hair on Duncan and the king (my character is bald) and once the cutcscene ended, the game crashed on me.
I wouldnât know if you have to take these steps every time, but it seems to be the most consistent means of getting the mods to work. You might need to do this with every transition in the game. Though I canât vouch for that yet myself.
