I restarted my computer, but I am still having the same issue.

However I can confirm that the issue is NOT present with doom.

Furthermore, I probably should have mentioned this sooner but I am currently using 3 mods with Dying light:

We have found the culprit I guess, backup your savegames and reinstall the game. (make sure to delete all the modded files before reinstalling)

It actually doesnā€™t sound like a mod issue (but I hope it is). For some reason Infinity canā€™t find the gameā€™s process, and mods shouldnā€™t affect that.

I feel like it is a security software/lack of privileges issue i.e infinity canā€™t inject to the game for some reason. Could be windows defender blocking infinity ?

This error message happens before Infinity even tries to inject. It canā€™t find the process at all, but that still could mean a privilege issue.

Unfortunately it seems that the mods were not the issue.

I deleted the mods and reinstalled the game,

I attempted to start steam and infinity in administrator mode and windows firewall and panda were off, while I was on the main menu, however, the error message is still appearing.

@Sumner_Kagen I donā€™t have access to the trainerā€™s source so no idea what it looks for. @frank or @REPPiN can help.

DL got an update. All cheats seem to work besides zombie carnage. Other than that, youā€™re home free to cheat.

Edit: Also, trainer takes a few seconds to activate now, so wait about 5-15 seconds.
