Hey team,
I’ve been a long-time supporter and user of WeMod, and first off—huge kudos to the devs for everything you’ve built. The ease of use, interface, and wide range of trainer support is second to none.
I’d like to suggest a new feature that I think could take WeMod to the next level: a Save Game Editor.
Why a Save Game Editor?
A save game editor would open up a whole new level of control and flexibility for players. Trainers are fantastic for real-time changes, but a save game editor allows for more persistent, detailed customisation—without needing to have the game running or active cheats enabled.
Potential Use Cases:
- Modify in-game currency, resources, or stats permanently.
- Restore progress after a corrupt save or game crash.
- Adjust choices or outcomes in choice-based games.
- Cleanly tweak values for roleplay or testing without affecting achievements or requiring mods.
What It Could Look Like:
- An easy-to-use UI that can auto-detect and edit values in common save file formats (JSON, XML, INI, proprietary binaries where possible).
- Profiles for popular games with commonly edited fields.
- Backup system to automatically create restore points before edits are applied.
Why It Makes Sense for WeMod:
- It aligns with the spirit of WeMod—making single-player experiences more customisable and accessible.
- You already have an incredible infrastructure for managing trainers and game versions, which could be extended to support save file formats.
- It opens up new opportunities for Pro features, if desired.
I know save game editors are tricky because every game handles saves differently, but even limited support for major titles would be an awesome starting point. There’s a big community out there that loves tweaking and modding, and WeMod could become a central hub for that too.
Perhaps make it requestable with a high number of boosts.
Thanks for considering, and keep up the stellar work!
Cheers,
Jenko
