Hey guys! Quick questionn about a thermal conductor, can i use these tabs that were covering chips on the bottom of the board to substitute the need of thermal paste? I’ll post pictures showing what I mean haha.

No thermal pads are not a substitute for thermal paste.
No, they’re way too thick. I’ve fixed, and still fix RROD 360s on the regular. You should get some quality artic silver paste and an x clamp replacement kit.

I would’ve fried my console without the help haha. Ill pick up some thermal paste and save this project for a rainy day
When you get the thermal paste let me know, and I’ll mail you a couple hardware kits for free. I bought 250 kits like 3 years ago and still have quite a few left. They came with thermal paste packets, but it’s low quality crap. I only paid about 40 cents per kit. I’ve had a very high success rate, so all I ask is that you take my advice, or follow the guide I learned from to the t.
