even after hard refreshing via both ( ctrl + f5 ) and ( ctrl + reload button ), it still says coming soon.
– could it be an regionblocking issue?, might just not be available in australia.
the odd thing is, that the other game pages are working fine, it’s just this one bugging out.

glad epic games do something like this. Even if they are not AAA games, still is good they are giving for free many games
Indeed. 
Epic does this for two reasons:

To support smaller/indie game developers with getting their name & brand out there. (Steam, although the largest game retailer, have extremely poor support for smaller/indie studios).

Because most profit from the gaming market actually comes from sales of DLCs, not sales of games. Giving the game away could encourage many people to buy the DLCs.
