Question: is it recommended to disconnect internet/activity when playing thru the campaign for Gears/similar? I know campaign is technically single player/coop, but most of the Gears package is online in one way or another, so was curious if the modifications that wemod engages could be detected?

if you can start the game with wemod.. I dont think you have to worry because games like call of duty just crashes at startup if wemod is running in the background even though it doesnt have any cod cheats

PC GamePass version I can’t get them to load. Tried waiting until I’m able to move in game before hitting Play, but it keeps saying it isn’t able to find the game and to restart. Single player local campaign.

-same here. Looking for the .exe location to help point to.
Gears of War- Reloaded\Content\Binaries_x64\GOWDE-WinGDK.exe does not seem to validate for me.

I am using the Xbox PC version of the cheat but it won’t play. Is it because of Easy Anti Cheat? How do I get the mods to work? I’m just trying to do Solo Campaign with mods.

For the PC Game Pass version, you can disable EAC for single-player doing this:

  1. Run the game once, then exit.
  2. Go to \Gears of War- Reloaded\Content\EasyAntiCheat
  3. Open the settings.json file inside that EasyAntiCheat folder
  4. Replace the “productid” string from “7e3756e03bda4408a9197c6f93437f03” to “7e3756e03bda4408a9197c6f93437g03”
  5. Save changes, close the file.
  6. Load up the game, then when in Single-Player campaign, click “Run” within WeMod, and use the cheats.

If you want to use Multiplayer, revert the steps of step 4, save and load up the game again.

Both strings are mostly the same, only one character is changed and that being the 3rd to last character is changed from “f” to “g”.

This is to let others know you don’t have to replace the entire string.

I’d like to know how the testing team got this to work without mentioning you have to do this in order to disable EAC to use the cheats on single player, not even the creator of these cheats has mentioned anything like this is required.

the game works perfect for me all mods are working as of 8-28-2025

you will be fine even with another player mods still work for you but the other player has no mods and they can die aloso but you wont

Recommendation: Make the vehicle at the end of ACT II have unlimited health

Everything works great for me. I did not have to change any code either.

I cannot figure out how to turn Easy Anti Cheat off for this game, I just want to do the campaign with mods and that’s it, I’m just worried about getting banned for using wemod by just loading the game via pc game pass and enabling the cheats. Could someone please advise?

I’ve just gone through the campaign and so far no ban. Did the little work around as suggested by the previous comments and worked a charm.

Seems a lot of faff just to get the mods working and the trainer doesn’t even mention it which is odd especially when most games warn you about the anticheats in game, oversight maybe?

I am struggling to get WeMod to launch its functions with the game. I applied the direct EXE. link file for WeMod to launch GOW:R and it does launch the game but doing so forces WeMod to state the error “We’re having trouble loading the mods into your game. Try restarting the game, or pressing Help for more info.” I have tried the string id edit according to the previous comments to no avail. May I have help with any suggestions in resolving this issue, please? Thank you for your attention on this matter!

Please consider enabling the dev console this would be super useful for making mods and tweaking the game more than mere cheats

i did the work around and the game wont load now, it is saying network error
