My son has been looking for the Cheetah in GTA 5 (Single Player) – Looking on the website, it says “sold out”… is this car only available for GTA 5 online? Perhaps he needs more achievements unlocked?
When going to the custom shop, my son can only get up to 40% armor on his car, and alot of the other options for features are 'locked out" … I assume this is also in relation to having achievements not being met…
Would the Diamond Membership take care of these problems?
I have to be honest and say I do not fully understand the game I suppose… Like, Michael can do missions, that Franklin can not… Trevor is not even an option of playing yet… My son likes playing on Franklin more… I have no idea how you even start a mission… I drive to the question marks on the map, but nothing is there… I see people online using the phone alot for this…
BUT, I have gotten all my sons characters (Michael, and Franklin) 2 Billion and maxed stats… so I have that much done…
Yes, every character has his own set of missions in which the other characters can’t access; was implemented by Rockstar so players feel as if they are following a story made up by all three characters rather than the typical solo “hero”.
Regarding the Cheetah and its upgrades, I too would assume your son doesn’t have all of the upgrades because he hasn’t progressed through enough of the story; think about it, Rockstar wouldn’t want anyone running around single-player with a fully customized vehicle when they haven’t touched the story.
P.S.
To start a mission one must go to the specific areas on the map that are marked with “M” (Michael), “F” (Franklin), “T” (Trevor); changes depending on which character you’re playing as. (The “?” icons on the mini-map are Strangers/Freak missions that are side-missions in which one can complete for an achievement. [Blue = Michael / Green = Franklin / Orange = Trevor])

I do not see any F on the map for “Franklin” — Keep on mind this is Single Player, not online… I also looked in the contact book, and only a couple of strippers, and some dude named lamar… No idea how to get a mission going…
Well my son is home from school… said he has completed all quests for Franklin… Will check on Michael in a few…
Well, if you don’t see a “F” on the mini-map as Franklin than, like you said you’d do, just try another character and see if their icons show; Rockstar made it in GTA:V that some events appear at a certain point-in-time and then disappear until that time again…so you may have to wait for the mission (“F” / “M” / “T” / “?”) to appear on the mini-map.
*I was referring to the Story rather than Multiplayer; one can’t play as Franklin/Michael/Trevor in GTA: Online.
P.S.
Since you said his contact book was made up of a few strippers and Lamar it seems as if your son is towards the very beginning of the game, thus shouldn’t have much when it comes to vehicle customizations, missions, etc.
After following up on his characters, he has barely even played Michael, and Michael seems to be the main Lester mission guy… I helped him do a few missions today, and even won a few races…
And yes, he is at the start of the game, pretty much.
