I open up Horizon under regular and Admin privileges, all it does is load the Horizon logo and kills the process. I have reinstalled multiple times, deleted it from the localappdata folder, cleaned up and reinstalled my Net Framework to no avail. The only thing that comes to mind is a few days ago I was playing Borderlands The PreSequel on Steam and I caused an error that made it impossible to play it or Borderlands 2 -yet every other steam game worked flawlessly- until I plugged in my 360 controller and it magically resolved itself. I highly doubt that it is related, but I’m at a loss at what else to try.
OS : Windows 8
Antivirus/Firewall : None
Errors : Will not load past splash screen
Extra Information : None… no errors or anything other than when watching the process in Task Manager, it loads up the .exe then it kills itself and vanishes
-Edit: Ran PC in safe mode, and Horizon works with “Cannot connect to server” error, but otherwise worked fine, any suggestions?
–Edit: Turned off internet adapter and ran Horizon flawlessly with the exception of “Cannot connect to server”, works every time as long as I have the internet off
I’ve watched it, and it maxes at 24% but I’ve never had this problem before, if anything at all it would just take a few seconds to load up then work without fail. It just started today out of the blue
I was about to do that when I read your comment of disabling the adapter, just tried that. I disabled the network adapter and Horizon just came on… granted it didn’t go online but it worked. I’m so lost, why would it crash at the splash screen whilst online but work offline?
Sorry to bother you again Sykotik, but I’ve tried safemode with networking and still came to the same conclusion that as long as my network adapter is off, Horizon works. I can’t seem to find anything right off hand that explains why it would do that, have you any suggestions to look into?
It is installed and as far as I’m aware of nothing else is wrong with my system, Horizon used to work without a issue before until a couple days ago which is weird
Uninstall Horizon and delete both daring dev folders in the appdata folder then download CCleaner and use the registry tool. It could just be some old registry keys creating issues.
