How do you get you channel notice?

How do you get your Youtube channel notice if you haven’t got much subscribers to begin with in order for people to watch your videos? Like I only get 20 views per video. Any one have any past experience and have tips to share.
The one thing i don’t want to do is post my videos in forums. Its not welcome seeing a forum spammed with my stuff.

By the way I do top10 videos if that changes anything.

Work hard, have good videos, have good editing skills and make sure you spread the word. Forums might not be the best way but it’ll get people to notice you. Give it time I guess.

Title & tags are very important.

Yeah I heard that helps alot. What tags would you recommend for top 10 videos? I can usually only think of a few such as “top 10” “Entertaining” etc

Just tag it with everything in your video and anything remotely related to the video.

Like Labogani said, whatever is in your video and anything related.

For example, here are some of the tags I used for a video I made about a class setup in Destiny.

It also helps to spell the game names right and have good grammar.

Oh, tag it with what I said, then tag everything you have already tagged but spell them wrong so if someone searches it and spells it wrong, your video comes up.

there is many different methods to promoting your channel.

  • youtube itself by ensuring you post as much great content as possible, it also depends on what kind of games you play as some games such as cod can get a high viewership than games like asassins creed.
  • also as you stated its frowned upon but most internet community forums tend to have a youtube promoting channel thread advertising on these can help,
  • also ensure you are making the best of social media sites… ie making a twitter or facebook page specified to your channel.
    having a twitch can also gain you subs as its easier for people to get to the know the person behind the videos.

and a little tip i used to use tags like fail, funny, cat, dog, epic…
