Infinity and Memory

Since the latest update, Infinity does not remove itself from memory when closed. When I’m not using Infinity, I use my computer for other memory intense programs. I’ll not go into what programs. I can use “Task Manager” to stop the Infinity process. But that is a pain in the bahooty!

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Addendum;

I see that Infinity is still not removing itself from memory when closed. Is this issue even being investigated by support? It is frustrating when a program that is not being used is still resident in memory. Using a “batch file” or some other work around fix is NOT the solution!! Infinity needs to BE GONE when I close it!!! NagDagNabbit!!!

dunno why but that also happens to me with steam , i close it and is still running hidden

Infinity now goes straight to tray when being “closed”. It messes with updates too because infinity needs to be shut down completely to update. Frank said he will fix the update issue, so there’s that. (might already be fixed)

A makeshift fix: A batch file that closes Infinity.

closeInfinity.bat (25 Bytes)

If you want to pin it to taskbar:

You guys don’t notice your tray icons i guess :woman_shrugging:

It is hidden for me so I have to press a button to be able to see it. I assume this is the default configuration.

I hate that!. Mine is always like this

The fix is in the “Settings Menu”. There is a “Close to Tray” dialogue button that can be turned off. When exiting “Infinity” with the button turned to the off position, it is completely removed from memory. That may have been there all along, I dunno. Anyway, there ya’ go!

That was added later as a quick fix for this (along with Infinity closing while installing an update).
