Hi, is it possible to clone Xbox One HDD and use it on other console?
i am thinking if somebody bought digital games from one console, then he can clone its hdd and use the games he bought from other console.

https://www.horizonmb.com/threads/156080-Xbox-One-Modding-Status pay attention to that part of the forums as that will tell you when we can or cant mod the xbox one. But at this current time, there is no known way to mod the xbox one, and that includes cloning the HDD.
I’m sure cloning the HDD would do no good. The games are probably locked to the console by some kind of ID. Just set up game sharing with your friend if want to play his digital games.

You want to go to 1tb? Yes, it can be done using this script here but there’s a problem when you install the dec 5th update. The console will hang on reboot when applying the update.
If you plan to just clone another 500gb hdd, just use some cloning software.
As I recall , and I admit I may be mistaken, if the games are saved on the external HDD for XB1 you can disconnect that drive and take it with you to another console. As long as you’re signing in under your profile it shouldn’t be a problem. I’d just check the info available on using the external HDD for verification.
the reason i ask is…that there is someone in my country claiming that he can copy xbox one games easily, but restricted for online usage. i have post it in another thread.
at this moment, we (modder in my country), assumed that he may use fake CC or something else…
as we know that digital games have dual license in it, #1 is tied with Home Xbox and #2 with gamertag, (as written here)
so, logically, when someone cloned his internal HDD, maybe it comes with its settings, configs etc, it should work on other xbox one…unless, there is some sort of encryption written in each HDD that wont work on other console… i havent tried that because atm i only have one console here.
i know that it is not possible to set Home Xbox on any other console while offline. So, when a person clone his hdd, and use it on any other console, will it set Home Xbox automatically ?
I am not trying to do something criminal, but i am eager to find out what method he use.

If not you, then he is scamming others by using their credit card information which is completely illegal.
Your games are not linked to the hard drive.
Games are tied to the profile and console IDs.
Any games that are purchased on your account are always going to be tied to your Profile ID, but you will always need to be connected to Xbox Live to play those games. If you want to be able to play a game offline, then you would need it connected to the Console ID which you can do by going to changing the Home Xbox settings for the account that purchased those games.
It would be easy to clone the Xbox One HDD in my opinion. My console had the E101 update error and wouldn’t update the day one update. I ended up using the xbox 360 slim hdd transfer cable and hooking the xb1 hdd to my computer. That way you can easily see all the partition sizes and files included. All the partitions are using the NTFS file format so Im sure you could plug in another 500gb hdd and recreate the partitions and copy the files to it. Im not sure about using a bigger hdd and how the partition sizes would change.
